Hi everyone, Im 17 and have been training now for 3 months. I dont have easy access to a gym so i have been working out at home mostlty, i have dumbells with are about 40lbs per hand. Right now i am 6'0 tall and weigh 183lbs. I still think i look too skinny, the main reason i am doing this is to improve my look. I dont look bad but just not what i want. I have a friend who helps me out over the inernet and he made it clear that when u have a good workout your bodypart should be a little sore the next day, well yesterday i pounded my arms so hard i nearly threw up and they are not sore today . I even introduced tricep dips to shock them a little. Do i just have crappy genetics and cant make this or what? I get alot of protein, about 190g a day, and because im a hard gainer i keep my carbs high. I can start to see more veins appear, but was wondering when will they pop? Like that vein so many people have going down their bicep. My desired look in the end would be the Stallone look in rocky 3 and 4. Its an amazing look. Can anyone help? Thanks alot Kris

Hey Kris, I dont think its that big of a deal if you are not sore the next day, some times it can take a few days for the soreness to set in. Even if it doesnt, still I dont think its a big deal. Some thing like this takes a long time, lots of dedication. You cannot expect results after 1 day, 1 week, etc... Why dont you try some new exercises, like instead of doing dumbbell curls, try concentration curls, or hammer curls, because sometimes the muscle can get used to the same motion, or exercise, and it becomes ineffective. Try mixing it up like ever month or so. Good Luck, welcome to DB

Hi again, Thanks for all the advice guys. I never reallt said much the first time, but i do have a routine and have had one for the past 3 months which is basically monday-arms, tuesday-shoulders, wednesday-rest, thursday-back, friday- legs, and rest sat and sun. I get about 180lbs of protein a day since im about 180lbs. I am still very lean and 6'0 tall. Ive normally been quite skinny although have been fortunate enough not to get bullied about it or anything. Its been just over 3 months and i can see a difference, i look more defined than i did, and as my mum actually pointed out, overall, i look bigger, alot fuller, I am actually pleased with the detail i have for going for such a short time and not even in the gym. I certainly feel alot stronger. When i got 40lb dumbells i wanted to cry because i struggles to do one curl, so i lowered the wait, and now i can curl the 40lbs and complete 3 sets of about 10 without much problem. I did manage to get my triceps pretty stiff the other day by mixing up the routine again :). Once again thanks for all the advice Kris
