New PR on bench today - Tuesday, July 10, 2007 2:22 PM ( #1 )
Hey guys, today was chest and tri and during bench i hit a new personal record for reps at 225 during a working set. My workout was:
warmup at 135
175x8
195x8
210x6
225x6

Previously the most reps during a workout that I had done was 5 so this is definately a confidence builder. I got a video of it up at youtube if you guys want to check it out. We were lifting in my buddies basement and his little bro was taking it with my camera phone.

good job, ur right arm is doing more work but im guessing u new that. as far as setting a record ur speed is fine, if ur looking for mass u might wanna slow it down some.

Yeah, i know my right arm does more work then my left. I think it is because my right shoulder is a bit stronger than my left from throwing. idk. Yeah, my other stuff I did at a slower pace, I had to max at 225 for this baseball recruiting thing so I was trying to get as many as I could. Thanks for the comment.

well, I am doing this recruiting service thing to help me get some college scholarship options. And you have to tell them how much you bench and squat. I was talking to the guy on the phone and he was like, "so how about the weight room? Can you bench 185?" I was like, yeah i can bench 270. Then he asked me how many times I could do 225 and he asked for my 1rm for squat. I didn't know they did that either but their expectations aren't very high for how much you should be able to lift. lol. I did notice my grip looked close, but that is how i have always done it, a thumbs length from the start of the grip.

Thats damn near a center grip... you have long arms too.. Put your pinkeys on the rings and then try again. I think you can hit it about as many times as I can.. You should be hitting that 8 times! I can see 2 more reps in you. Your a little wobbly too gripping the bar that close.

So just trust me and change up your grip pinkies to the rings.
