New Excercises for a 5 day routine??? - Wednesday, October 14, 2009 12:00 PM ( #1 )
Chest- Incline bench (dumbells/bar) weighted dips, cable flys, barbell pullover

Back- Standing bent row. Two sets overhanded and two sets underhanded. Pullups, T Bar rows.

Legs- squats, lunges, legpress, straightleg deadlift, hack squats. I hate my gyms leg press machine so id like to not have to use it.

Shoulders- Military press (dumbell/bar) Shoulder flys overhead, Shoulder rasies arms to the sides, Shrugs, Deadlift, Sometimes hangcleans

Arms- barbell curls, one arm supinating curls, preacher curls, weighted dips, lying french press, and lying tricep extensions.

I love the 5 day workout I just need some new excercises for this type of routine to freshen it up and start to shock my muscles to continue progressing in my lifting.

If you have any new excercises id like to hear them and if you have any questions I can clear up anything or further explain what I mean.

Chest - flat bench (i'm assuming you probably already do this or have in the past), low cable flyes.

back - wide grip pull ups

legs - bulgarian split squats, glute ham raises

shoulders - arnold press

enjoy

arms
legs
chest
back
shoulders

is a nice way to split it out so that you are doing minimal exercises that effect a muscle that will be used the following day.

IMO though as people say around here a 3 day full body is worth giving a try.

i still do 3 day full body routine.

yeah, bulgarian split squats are similar to a lunge but you have your rear leg elevated on a bench and the other foot out in front on the floor or on a step, first of all try to complete them with body weight alone, but gradually add weight by holding db's in each hand, if this doesnt make much sense google them, they are also known as speed skater squats.

glute ham raises, can be perfotmed on the lat pulldown machine (this is how i do them anyway !)  kneel on the seat facing away from the machine and tuck your heels under the thigh pad, to perform the glute ham raise slowly lean forward keeping your upper body and thighs in alignment through out, once you have gone as low as possible push yourself back up using your arms but make sure most of the pull up comes from the glutes and hams.

again there are many different ways this can be done so i would again suggest you google them.

hope this helps !
