"Net Carbs" - Monday, August 03, 2009 9:55 PM ( #1 )
Hey everyone I recently started my CKD and was wondering if dietary fiber (listed as a carb) will take you out of ketosis.
On many products it will say "3g net carbs" because there will be 8g's carbohydrates, but 5 of them will be dietary fiber (i figure it's just a marketing technique)
So is it just that carbs are carbs?  Or do dietary fibers somehow not count?

Fiber has zero effect on bloods sugar levels.  It does not adversely affect diabetic's or keto diets.  Always remove the fiber content from all of your carb totals or you intake will be incorrect.

As it has 0 effect on blood sugar i doubt it would really get you over your carb cravings.

trust me it won't
certain veggies, nuts (pay attention, some are better than others), I can't think of anything else atm, I mean I can.... but nothing you can eat on CDK.

Raspberries and Blackberries are fruit with exceptional fiber content and can curb a sweet tooth.
