Well im new here, this is my first post.. so first of all.. Im 16.5 years old, my weight is of 183 pounds or 83.5 kg, i am 1.80 meters tall, and that is about 5'10'' to 5'11'' i guess, and well im going to the gym 4-5 times a week, it is a small gym, and i am working out shoulders one day, back one day, arms another day, chest another day, and friday is optional. I am fat, im looking to build muscle, so they can be noticed, so i guess i want to lose fat, and build muscle. My diet normally is Coffee as breakfest on weekdays, a hamburger at school for lunch, and at dinner, normally meat, and sometimes as a side dish rice. And on weekend, my breakfeast are pancakes, lunch meat or something similar, and at night i go out to eat.. So can you gimme any advice so i can get some more muscle, and lose fat thx, dan

well, leaving the coffee is too hard, because in the mornings i dont have a lot of time to take breakfeast.. so it is like coffee or water... and by fixing the diet, what do u mean, what is wrong about it.. oh yeah.. i forgot i dirnk a lot a lot lot lot of water

eat more times a day...its hard as a student i know but try to get about 5-6 meals in...it will help kickstart your metabolism and get your body on the right track...provided you eat lean and healthy...also im lookin at your workout schedule and i would recommend dropping the optional day to put in leg day. also, are you training your traps on shoulder day? just wondering. if not, fit that in somewhere....other than that just listen to danmirage, he knows his stuff.

Please head over to the diet section and get reading. If you had actually read through Dan's link well enough, you wouldnt have had to ask the above question.

i read dan's link.. but i didnt see anything that said if you wanted to lose weight.. and if it is said there.. well i didnt understand it.. :( im not a native enlgish speaker.. PS... For hydration at the gym should i drink gatorade or water?

ok thx alot, and one last question.. as for hydration for the gym.. should i drink watr or gatorade, is that i read somewhere that is recommended to drink water, so instead of burning the things that the gatorade has... to burn the bodie's things..

ok let me get my thoughts clear.. i think i havent been clear enough.. first of all... i dont exactly want to lose weight, but i want to lose fat, i dont want to look fat, i dont care if i weight 195 pounds, if i have a 6 pack or big muscles.. i just dont want to be fat, i want to have you know a cool body... I eat an average of 1700-2000 calories a day i estimate, about 60% carb, 20-25% proteing and the other 15-20% fat... i was thinking about that.. i just needed to get my thoughts clear... BTW i got another questin a quick one.. is it good to work out the ABS5 days a week for 20 min each day? or should i do it just one day a week.. with one other muscle

Abs 1 or 2 days a week When it comes to carbs try to limit the amount of simple carbs such as (WHITE BREAD!!!!, white rice, sugars, sodas, candy, etc) and try to replace them with whole grain foods, and brown rice When it comes to fat, try to limit the amount of saturated fats you intake, and ELIMINATE all TRANS-FATS, these will both make your heart and your waistline happy. Also as with everything try to spread out your protein/carb/fat intake.
