Need to be set in the right direction - Tuesday, October 02, 2007 9:58 AM ( #1 )
I am a new member and decided to post in your section since you a also a female. Okay ANY advice is going to be very helpful.

I am 21.
I am female
I weigh 182
I am 5 ft 6-7 in.
I try to eat 5-6 meals a day.

Breakfast-Whey protein shake w/ skim milk, peanut butter, banana or Slim Fast drink (don't know if they are good or bad for me)
Snack-Hard boiled egg or crackers
Lunch-Tuna w/ lite miracle whip or egg salad (with no yolk) w/ miracle whip
Snack-Couple of pieces of turkey or protein shake (if I didn't have one for breakfast)
Dinner-Grilled chicken entree of some sort
Before workout-whey protein with just 8 oz. of water

Workout-I don't have a workout routine YET. I am interested in burning calories and lifting. I have a treadmill at my house and a free weight set at my boyfriends. I have limited income so joining a gym right now is out of the question. I thought about doing weights one night and cardio the next. Would this be a waste of time or is it okay to do?
My goal is to get down to 140-145 and then start to define my body. I want very little to "move" on my body when I walk. If that makes any sense.
I currently have no health injuries other than being unmotivated at times. I hate that about myself. So any tips you have for staying motivated would be great. I am a very picky eater. I know that this is hurting me but I just can't stand to eat mainly veggies. My boyfriends hates that about me but I just can't stand them. Do I HAVE to have them or are there other ways of getting what they supply? Thanks so much in advance for your help!

Looks good otherwise.....

I would try getting your jogging going 30 mins per day 3-5 days per week, if you cannot jog non stop then begin a walk jog program.......the weights your bf has is perfect!  do squats, lunges, pushups, deadlifts, crunchs, shoulder raises, bicep curls, tricep dips and then some stretching.
My goal is to get down to 140-145 and then start to define my body. I want very little to "move" on my body when I walk. If that makes any sense.

Well, to be honest, its true that taste is nothing to do with fitness, health and for the most part diet, only on cheat days!!  check out my reply in your last post.....about which veggies to try to learn to like.
for now, can you try some oral supplements from a greens product???
My biggest tip to stay motivated is to plan a goal, which you have - lbs to lose.  Commit to workout and figure out a short term workout plan......you got that going now...........and work on diet..........also working on it.  lastly, start an online journal in the online journal section, let me know the link and I can watch it and help you along............you can let us know your food list, workouts, sets or reps, whatever you have time to write, mood etc...........look at mine for an idea, and maybe check out a few others.
Welcome to DB!!
