Need Help, Critque my diet please! - Sunday, February 08, 2009 12:49 PM ( #1 )
OK so I am currently 153 pounds about 5 foot 9 and 9% body fat, I'm looking to drop that last bit of fat to make my abs really show.

This is a typical days food intake:

Breakfast-

Oatmeal
Banana

2 hours later-

Apple

Lunch-

Grilled chicken breast on whole wheat with lettuce and lemon juice
for flavor

Orange

Dinner-

White fish
Broccoli
Spinach
Salad

--- Please critique my diet, I feel as if I should be eating more but I don't know and would appreciate the help!

I figured as much. could someone provide me with a sample diet?

or make some changes to my current.

I am looking to get serious with my fitness but I've gotta get my diet sorted out first so any help would be much appreciated!

I'd eat a couple of eggs with the breakfast, and add nuts to your snacks between meals, cottage cheese is a good snack as well.  I also drink a glass of milk with breakfast and dinner.

If you're looking to healthily cut off fat, you need to calculate your maintenance calories.  You can do so here:

Eat 3-500 calories less than what you estimate.

I would advise against eating just carbs by themselves.  Your breakfast and snack need some protein in them.  What I do is put a scoop of chocolate whey in 4/3 to 1 cup of oatmeal and put in some frozen strawberries (no strawberries anymore though, I had do cut them out recently).  That's a pretty good breakfast to get your metabolism going.  As for your snack, eat a sandwich with plenty of meat on it with (or without) your apple.  Like everyone else said, you probably aren't eating enough calories and deffinitely not enough protein.

If you're 9% bodyfat and your ab's aren't showing it most likely isn't due to excess bodyfat, it's to not enough muscle in the particular area. I suggest you bulk instead of cut and put on your muscle, then you can burn fat.

You're barely eating enough to survive.
