hi. I have like 4 percent body fat and was hoping to get it up to around 10 percent, maybe a tad higher. I am just questioning, what are some good and healthy ways to increase my overall body fat percentage?

Probably because a 4% bodyfat percentage is dangerously low. The pros go to 4-6% for competitions but there's a good reason why they try to keep it that tiny bit higher off-season. A healthy way of increasing bodyfat I guess is to increase your caloric intake of your normal healthy diet. Increase protein, carbs and fats and decrease your normal level of activity by just a little bit.

Agree.. you eat more than what you normally eat, although you don't need to to decrease you're activity as long as you eat a lot And i'm with wyrms, 4%is damn low, 8% is already low, 10% is ideal for us normal bodybuilders/fitness trainees

If thats your natural body fat% then don't worry about it, just be happy it's so naturally low cause that means you'll be much more defined and ripped. quote:

Even then, 4% is TOO low, TOO ripped. You NEED bodyfat to live. Those doctors probably don't want you to gain weight because executing heavy weightlifting movements COULD result in injury. Correct me if I'm wrong (really, that last sentence is a guess :p), but it's best to be on the safer side and up the bf% that little bit. :) I'd take advantage of it, up the calories, go on a clean bulk, you'll get some muscle out of it too.

I agree with wyrms about the bulking but I reckon if your bodyfat was seriouly unhealthy you would have known by now but then again I'm no expert, although I'm only 5.7% and I've lived fine.

Well no I'm not goin to any competition or anything and I kinda want a little more bodyfat% cuz so far everyone's been tellin me that's a bit dangerous and also I probably would look a little bigger with some more body fat and lookin a little bigger would be nice, right now I know I'm muscular but I am so skinny its kinda hard to tell when I have a shirt on and such. So Wyrms said to increase my calories? that makes senseI guess, though I hate forcing myself to eat but eh whatever really. Are there any weight-gaining supplementes (other than creatine) or bars that anyone may reccomend?
