I've been working out for about 2 months now and my current weight has not changed at all, however I've become a lot stronger. I have a very low body fat percentage, which leads me to believe that any gains that I might have will be purely muscle. How fast can one gain muscle? Are there any ways to accelerate or stimulate growth (no pro-hormones or steriods thanks :P ) by normal supplements, diet, etc? Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks

From your profil I see that you're 16. At that age you probably have a fast metabolism. In my opinion, You'll need to eat a good 19-20 calories per pound of bodyweight per day if you don't want your metabolism to beat you to the weight gaining race. Don't be afraid to eat lots of fats.

3 years ago I was 16 and like you I had no fat even though I ate a lot and now I still eat a lot cauz I'm builking right now but I'm actually gaining the weight as opposed to 3 years ago. My metabolism slowed down a lot since I'm 18.

I think you got 2 options: you'll have to eat aaaallllloooootttt if you wanna bulk at your age or you can wait 2-3 years and then start bulking, it's gonna way easier to gain the weight. But that's just my opinion.

Oh ya and you'll wanna cut all cardio on your workout days, very important...

I think I'l just make sure I get the right amount of protein per day, eat a bit more than usual, but nothing too extreme. I know that in a couple years I will be able to see more rapid gains, so for now I'l just focus on strength and create a foundation. Thanks for the tips though.

I think the rest of my family might get mad if I go and eat everything in the fridge/freezer/pantry Smile

Thanks for the advice

edit: I'm not putting an end to the thread, if anyone else has their opinions/advice, please go ahead! Smile

from your pic, Im going to say your a Ectomorph, your body has a fast metab. and it is easy as **** for you to lose fat, however hard to gain muscle. Theres nothing you can do about it, its your genetic makeup, blame your parents...lol. you've been training for 2 months, stalways comes before size, it takes heavy weights to get size, so just keep lifting and the size will come, at least you'll never be fat. goodluck.
