 Muscle Milk Questions

Muscle Milk Questions - Saturday, June 14, 2008 11:54 PM
I just started to take muscle milk a few days ago. I workout on Mondays, Wednsdays, and Fridays. I usually run on Tuesdays and Thursdays and do some light lifting after I run. I was wondering if I should be taking muscle milk at night before I go to bed on the weekends even if im still not working out? Will this do any good for me? Also if I should be taking it before and after on days I do my running.
Age-15; Height-5"11; Weight-185lb

you want to drink it right after you work out.  your muscles need the protein badly after they have been work out. 
 
depending on your goals, look around this forum in the nutrition section, and you can find information on food and all that good stuff.  i don't know how old you are.
 
muscle milk will do stuff for you, but nothing hugely noticable.  like i said, research food, that's where the true secret is.....it's all about food

i usually do take it before i workout and after i workout, but i was confused on wether to take it on non workout days because im not sure if it will do anything good for me

Muscle milk is protein.  your muscles are growing on your off-days, so they need protein.  Are you getting enough protein daily?  If not, muscle milk is a way to supplement more protein in your diet.  That's all it is.  Make sense?

It's a casein source so it is best used before bed.  You'll be fine drinking it post workout, but you're better off consuming whey right after lifting.

take it every day.
 
i've used the analogy before.......it's like cigarettes
 
this is what i mean by that.  if you smoke 2 cigarettes every week or every other week, they're not going to really do anything to you; you won't become addicted.
 
but if you smoke 2 every day, then they're going to have an effect on you.
 
think of protein like that.  if you have it every day, it'll effect you more than if you just drink it every now and then

Get most of your protein threw whole foods man! the protein shake should only be like 15% of the protein your getting a day the rest should be threw whole foods! gl man
