Mom wants to bodybuild!

Hi, My mom is 53 years old and she wants to get into bodybuilding, she will first lose fat and then she hopes to build strength and muscle. What kind of routine should she use? same as a male? any tips that you ladies might have for her? thank you!

that' s way cool!!! i wish my mom went to the gym too. i' ve been trying to get her in there but to no avail. is ur mom just starting? i think the important thing is to just get her started in to the routine of working out. she can begin with both weight training and the cardio. hmm... i would think that she should start lightly first... light weights and light cardio... i think she can do the same workout routine as urs. hope it works out for her. also there are alot of fun classes that she maybe interested in... yoga for flexibility, bellydancing for fun, etc.
