haha, yeah it was sarcasim. If i remember right mclifter had some pretty big maxes. I'm gonna say that my bench hopefully will be in the 205 area. deadlift i have no idea, i'm hoping for 315. squat probably up a little not much. and packers4, yeah the first week of 15's are pretty easy. You will start to feel it in week two i think. If you don't, you may consider doing another week of 15's. Have you started a online journal?

No didn't start a journal yet ebcause I didn't start. I am starting on July 5th because I have to decondition. But I figured out the numbers and by looking at them it looked pretty easy. Once I start I'm going to start a journal though.

Sunday - A - 10's (last week of 10's) Squat - 2 x 185 (These are getting really tough cardio and lactic acid wise. it's gonna be tough.) Bench - 2 x 145 (finally got 2x10. time to progress!) Deadlift - 1 x 225 (had to take a few seconds rest between sets towards the end. gonna be real tough.) OH Press - 65 (feeling good. think i may have made some strength gains here.) Pullups - 17 w/ 25lb weight (took 3 sets 8, 6, 3) (DEAD!) Calves - did 2x15 Tricep - pulldowns These last 2 workouts are going to kill me i'm pretty sure. The squat is going to push my cardio to the limit. strength is going to be major concern on bench. Deadlifts, well, just plain suck but in a good way. 5's couldn't come any quicker!

Ahh..no point of starting now. I'll just start on July 5th because supposely if you decondition for 2 full weeks you get best results. Anyways I couldnt find the rest times anywhere. I know for 15s its 30 seconds to 1 minute and for 5s its 2 to 3 minutes but what about 10s ?

HST is a training pinciple not a routine. I do not time my rest times. If you like to get the pump and what not then use shorter rest times otherwise just go when you feel ready. I train with a partner so i go when he is done. 2 full weeks... yikes i'd go insane!

Tuesday - B - 10's Squat - 2 x 190 (warmups sets felt aweful but actual sets were great. guess thats why one warms up) Incline Bench - 2 x 115 (still pretty easy. probably started to low on these.) Deadlift - 1 x 230 (felt better than last time. still exhuasted afterwards though) BB Rows - 2 x 85 (best ones i have felt in a while. still not sure if they are right though) Dips - 26 w/ 25lb (did 2 sets 1x13, 1x13) Shrugs - 70's 2x10 (getting close to too heavy for me to do.) chinups - 2x10 bw (felt more bicep pump from these than curls normally) last day of the 10's for the B day and only 1 more to go. can't wait to get to 5's! So far i've been pretty satisfied with everything and my progression. My shoulders and traps have grown since i've started. OH press baby!

Saturday - A - 10's (finished with 10's) Power Cleans - so you all got me so amped to do these i tried them out today. form felt decent. i need to reread the chapter in SS. I felt to much burn in the forearms i think than there should be. i started and did a couple with the bar from the standing position. than tried 95lbs and it felt good. wrists got a little sore too. squat - 195 (felt pretty good, got pretty tired on last few reps though. keep form good though.) OH Press - 70 (tried using a little bit new technique. i think i liked it but seemed to put a little bit of strain on lower back so i'm not sure.) Flat Bench - 150 (had to do a 10,7,3. man i'm weak at bench.) Pullups - 25lb (only did 8 and 6 today. just didnt have anything in the tank.) as expected nutrition has been aweful last few days so routine has suffered a bit. but it's the holidays. I'm considering not doing the 5's and just go to strenght training since i'm going be doing 5's anyways and also doing a progressive routine anyways so really it's all the same.

alright I am finished with the 10's and decided to mix up my routine for the 5's progression. I will be doing rippetoes routine while keeping the progression i would have been on with the other. So there should'nt be any real change except for a nice little mixing up to keep things fresh. anyways: Monday - A - 5's Squat - 200 3x5 (great) Bench - 155 3x5 (great) Deadlift - 235 2x5 (couldn't help but do another set. it just felt so good.) Pullups - w/35lb 2 sets 9/5 Chins - BW 2 sets 6/4 good first day of 5's. nothing real hard so progression shouldn't be a problem.

i don't know much about rippetoes stuff, but where is the OH press? nothing for shoulders (except deads for the traps)... or is there another workout coming up soon that has some type of OH press. i like where you're going with this so far. looks good. your numbers are very well rounded in terms of dead/squat/bench... UNLIKE mine.. who's numbers are messed up. bench/deadlift/squat. <-- not good nice job so far. keep it up

yep there is another day of squat/OH press/Power Cleans/BB rows/Dips. thanks. the only reason i'm probably "well rounded" is because my chest is so weak it never had a chance to go way out of whack.

Hey mobley- does your gym have bumper plates for you to do power cleans? Just asking since I just took off a week since I wasn't going nowhere and needed the rest probably the hiit cardio and reduced calories kinda did me over. I'm just going to follow rippitoes routine no serious running and leave it at that for a bit. My school gym doesn't have bumper plates so I don't know if I'm able to do powercleans since I need to learn how to do it and just going to do barbell rows in the mean time. Should I worry about it?

Iight man thanks I'll just switch out rows with the power cleans so it's basically rippitoes routine exactly. I have the book and read it like crazy just was making sure on the plate part since I don't see anyone doing it so didn't know if I could do it. In his book he never talked about doing anything more than just the powercleans at the most just an accessory work limited to functional exercises like dips, chinups and pullups which I do. So no room for rows anywhere but pullups should just be enough I guess. Powercleans I always gave it a try at least once per workout but never included it in the log since I was just learning it. Doing it with the bar alone didn't help much but when I practiced it with like 85Lbs or so it was fun as hell lol. Since power cleans is just for power ripp did mention maybe doing them 5x3 instead of 3x5 would be better suited for it. Are you going to do them 3x5 or 5x3?

3x5 probably. i'll be starting with 95lb (gym has 25lb rubber plates) and adding 5 each workout until i think my form sucks and go back down again. i felt when i was doing it with the bar i was just reverse curling it and didn't get any good practice from it.

Wednesday - B - 5's Squat - 205 3x5 (didn't do enough warm up sets and got a little off form on first two sets. nothing major though.) OH Press - 75 3x5 (I think i may be getting the hang of these) Power Cleans - 3x5 95 (I practiced on these quite a bit with the bar and it helped. I'm having a problem keeping the bar close to my body. the weight helps that, but i'm still not quite there.) BB Rows - 3x5 95 (finally using weight to where the bar is standard height off of ground and it's helped a lot. these felt great.) Dips - w/ 45lb (3 sets 5/5/4) I still got some work to do on the power cleans forsure. I'm just gonna stick with bar work and then 95lbs until it feels real good. everything else went pretty good. I was sweating like a mad man for some reason today too.

Friday - A - 5's Squat - 210 3x5 Bench - 160 3x5 Deadlift - 245 2x5 Pullups - w/35lb 2 sets 7/4 Chins - BW 2 sets 6/6 i was pretty tired by the time i got to the pullups. I worked out at a different gym by the same owners today and it was awesome. old weights, old squats racks and a deadlift/power clean area. it was awesome. it's a shame it is totally out of my way really to workout there.

yea thats ok went out today and started to just walk around and got bored and did jogging and my back started to feel better I guess I got keep moving around for it start feeling better. So I started to play easy game of basketball with 2 friends and I did pretty ok. I'll start out extremely light on wednesday or maybe do high rep type of workout to get the blood flowing. If you ever get a pain from around your thighs or something like when you squat and it hurts like a sharp pain after a couple of days of not doing squats try to do empty bar squats for like 5x10 helped me recover good just putting that out there since I got that when doing 5x5 and reached 160Lbs in January. Good luck on your workouts!!!

Wednesday - B - 5's Squat - 215 3x5 (really focused on driving with my hips and it ended up being pretty hard for me. could have been just an off day for me too.) OH Press - 80 3x5 (no problem) Power Cleans - 3x5 95 (these felt pretty good. probably going to go up to 100 next time.) Dips - w/ 45lb (2 sets 6/6) good to get back in the gym after some craziness going on. i've had way to much alcohol the past 2 weeks for my liking. time to lay off and get back into my normal routine.

The Red is BULKING!!!!!! MUUUUHAHHAHAHAHA!!! probably should have never stopped bulking, but oh well. i hated seeing the fat. But as i sit hear typing this and eating my 12" meatball sub I remember really enjoy bulking. Thursday - A - 5's Squat - 220 3x5 (man i guess my form has been off except these last 2 workouts. I made it a point to make sure my hips were the first thing to raise and these last 2 workouts have been a bitch. not sure how much weight i can keep going up.) Bench - 165 3x5 (getting heavy for me) Deadlift - 255 1x5 (still feeling great! might stick with 10lb increases since i think bench is going to stall soon) Pullups - w/35lb 2 sets 6/5 (decreasing because lifts above are increasing) brihead wasn't lying, you start squating, benching and deadlifting heavy you get pretty f'n tired.

bulking huh? have fun with that. getcha some bcaa's if you can afford them. can't hurt you at all. we're so reversed in terms of benching/squatting. i'm stalling at 185 for 5 reps on squats, but can bust out 230 for 5 reps on benchpress no problem, while YOU on the other hand, are squatting 220 for reps, and then seem to almost be stalling with 165 on benchpress. sometimes i wonder what it would feel like to be able to squat 220 for reps like you do. and i'm sure you wonder what it's like to have a real strong chest like i do some days. one of these days.. we need to swap bodies for a day and lift just to see what it's like
