Mixing to many supplements?
-
Tuesday, June 26, 2007 2:52 AM
I dont know much about body building, All I know is that I want to get into shape fast, so here is what I plan on taking, what I would like to know is if there is any major reason I should not do this, because of health risks. Here is what im stacking, all in full recomended doses: - NO explode (pre-workout creatine) - Cellmass (post-workout creatine) - Lipo 6 (fat loss + energy) - System Six (fat loss + energy) Along with diet and excersise. What do you think?

If you're new to this do not fall into the supplement hype! Leave them out of the equation, that's not what's important. You can always expect 95% of your results to come from proper nutrition and your training plan. You are focusing on the wrong things if you are worrying about the possible gains you might get from supplements if your diet and training are not perfected. If you want to take any supplements I'd suggest whey protein only for now. Nothing else. Worry about supplements when you're 6 months down the line and you understand how all this works. Even then at least 95% of your results is going to come from your diet and your training program. So before that, here are a few questions. - Are you eating 5-6 meals per day (if it doesn't include a lean protein and a starchy carb, its not a meal)? - Is the vast majority of your food unprocessed (how it appears in nature)? - Are you including a fibrous vegetable with most of your meals (the more the better)? - Are you drinking a ton of water and staying away from sodas, juices, etc? - Do you limit alcohol to less than 1-3 servings per week? - Are your training sessions kept between 30 min and 1 hour of intense weight-lifting? - Do you favor compound exercises over isolation exercises? - Do you track your progress every week? - Do you know how to determine where weight loss or gain comes from (fat or lean body mass)? - If the goal is fat loss, are you including 3-6 days of cardio per week? Before you can answer yes to all these questions, looking to supplements is a waste of time and money. Its hyped so much it causes confustion. The supplement industry (especially weight loss pills) is a multi-billion dollar industry. Many own 'fitness' magazines and use those magazines to hype their supplements in a form that looks like unbiased reports. Don't be tricked, concentrate on the things that will actually make a difference.

Lipo6x combined with NO-Xplode will cause you many problems. There is 200mg of caffeine in one dose of Lipo6x. There is also about as much caffeine in NO-Xplode. Combine those together and your going to be a shaky mess. Leave out the Lipo6x and the System Six... Hell, even the cellmass. I agree 100% with Cowboy but I would say if you can afford NO-Xplode go ahead and get that. Its a great pre-workout booster that will get you motivated and working hard. Hard work and heavy weights combined with a good clean diet is what gets you the results and as far as im concerned, anything that helps motivate you in the gym in the beginning when your motivation may be lacking is pure gold.

Proper Nutrition and Correct Supplementation are the keys to bodybuilding. You, however, will only work with half of that equation. Perfect your diet-Step 1. Be Consisten with training-Step 2. Don't give up, or stop training for atleast 8 weeks-Step 3. Once you've been in the lifting scene for more than 6 months, then you can think of supplements. And come to think of it, the only one I really reccommend is creatine and that's it. Fat Burners don't really do anything, and it would be better if you just drank a cup of coffee and walk out the door.
Current Supplements: Multi-Vitamin, Calcium, Vitamin C Current Cycle: Cross Country Season "Run to live, and live to run."

Eat less and do cardio = lose weight. Eat more and lift weights = gain muscle. Forget supplements (for now).
