Military Deployment - 7/30/2007 6:53:30 AM

Next summer I will be deployed as a scout in a densely wooded area.  I'm looking for a training program that solely focuses on strength gains as fast as possible since I'll be carrying 50+ pounds of equipment and be required to move fast through dense woods.

Any help with a strength training regiment that I can do using only some dumbells, a barbell with adjustable weight, and a standard flat weight bench would be great.

Thanks

Note: I don't care for any vanity, just the ability to carry as much weight as possible.

start doing some squats and deadlifts. These will exercises will strengthen you up real good and you`ll see faster results than just benching. Also, if you have adjustable dumbbells you can use them for squats too.

interval training is good, too. you're gonna wanna go for endurance, so go with lighter weights and higher reps. do some  cardio...sprints would be good. and good luck down range.

i've checked into it, but i'm not really interested in it. i've heard good things and neutral things about it, though. not doubting the fact that it works, but my current routine is working well for me. :)
