Received my Accu-Measure. Took my 3 readings. It says I'm currently at 14.6% body fat. Not bad. Pretty darn close to what I was measured at the gym.

And considering that I cut out the yogurt and replace it with cottage cheese, it might be very well.. accurate... or close enough.

I needed this for my Chapter 3 of the Burn the Fat review I'm doing.

Out of curiosity i just found this bodyfat calculator and i was wondering how accurate it is. http://davedraper.com/bodyfat-calculator.html

anyone wanna check to see how accurate this is for me? I'm 131.5 lbs and my waist is 28" flexed and 29.5" relaxed. with a 28" waist it says i'm 8.4% bf and with a 29.5" i'm 13.1% bf...quite a big difference so i'm wondering which one is right (or closer to a good estimate). i'm like 5'6" or 5'7" and you can't see the bottom two abs and you can't see any if i'm not flexing.

Thanks!

It says I'm about 3% less then the caliper I used say I am..

I've done a 3 point pinch test from a personal trainer and I've done my own 1 point spot test, followed by a few of those electronic fat measuring devices.. and all point to about 16% body fat.

This one says 13%..

I'm going to have to say it's just a rough guess.. close but a larger margin of error. Smile

Honestly, I'd have to say the online calculators are fun, but the least accurate of the various methods of testing.

I pinch in a specified spot every time.. it's always 12mm.. so my body fat is the same flexed or not.

While it's not the most accurate method, it's a good method of testing. And it's always in the same spot. Flexing or not doesn't change it. And it's a good way to measure progress.

Those calipers are $19.95.. you can use them to gage your progress and then use the online calculator to see how off it is.

In my case, I don't believe the online calculator. I think I'm closer to 16% as most methods have tested me at that.. and 3% below is a big difference.

Go get tested at your gym or health club or DR's office. Then see just how accurate this is. Without having another method of testing, you won't know for you specifically.

I know for me.. it's off.
