well i don't think that protein shakes should be thought of as "meal replacements" b/c they're usually
added to a diet to get in more protein, especially when bulking.
and you don't have to lose "a lot" of weight before you start bulking. but i guess i'm not exactly sure what your
goals are. why don't you let us know what you're looking to acomplish and post your current training in the "critique my training" forum and i'm sure you'll get plenty of help.
