Meal replacements are designed to to just that. Replace a meal. They provide about 2x as much protein (slower burning usually) as just a simple protein shake. They usually have fiber and a full range of minerals and vitamins in them. In a nutshell, it' s the scientific equivalent to a perfect " real" meal. Most people use them (like me) when I need to eat 5-6 times a day or more but do not have the kitchen time to be preparing food. So I eat 3-4 REAL meals and I throw in a 1-2 meal replacements. Use them sparingly as they are not really there to be a liquid replacement for all of your meals. For example, let' s say I do the following: 7:30am REAL meal 10:00 meal replacement 12:00 REAL meal 3:00 meal replacement 5:00 REAL meal 9:00 Protein shake or meal replacement for slower burning protein thru the night Use them lightly. Lots of calories and lots of protein. I' d suggested going lighter. One a day.. then maybe 2. Monitor your caloric intake. Too much of a good thing and it will just turn to excess weight if you aren' t burning it off. At one point, I was doing 3 a day. Too much. Just gained weight. Not the good kind. Dropped it to one time a day, now that I actually eat more REAL food, and I' m doing GREAT. Follow this link to many choices of meal replacements. If I had to recommend one, I' d try the Prolab. But honestly, you' ll need to experiment. They have different flavors and consistencies that you may or may not like. My recommendation might be okay but you may find that somebody else offers one that just tastes better to you. We all have our preferences when it comes to food. Start off with one box.. see if you like it.. if not... try another brand.
