Lower Back Pain
-

Hi, me and a buddy were doing legs this morning. Anyway he went sqautted and then stopped and complained of lower back pain that was the width of his whole lower back. He had to stand straight or it kept hurting him, he could barely sit down or raise his hands and he's def walking weird with his back perfectly straight because it hurts him. I tried to pressure him to go to the doctor but he wont listen, stubborn . Anybody have any ideas what could be wrong with him? Slip disk? Thanks all

Well usually it takes many times to damage a disc, not from a single event, but of course some exceptions. However just wait a few days and if the pain doesn't go away, then you should be concerned and ask him to definetely see a doctor.

It could be any number of things. Slipped discs arent always a 'wear and tear' process. Infact, in athletes/younger population, they are more often due to a single incident. Your back is NOT one of the things you should be willing to let time heal. Most healthy people have back pain in the older age. Add to that an injury when you are young and it could spell bad things later on in your life. Even if your friend can move better, convince him to see a doctor. Its in his own best interests.

That sounds just like what i feel sometimes. I think i hurt it during the football season. When i talked to the trainer and the doctor they both said that it was prolly muscular. They were kinda unsure though because I couldnt pinpoint exactly when/how it happened. So, anyway to make a long story short, I have occusional back pain, stiffness and muscle spasims. So, ya... now that I think about it, I should prolly go see the doctor again...
