Hey guys, when i first started lifting i was very inspired and dedicated, but all of that has changed lately...i seem to be really lazy and depressed in a way, i just cant be botherd to cycle down to the gym and bust my arse no more, i used to love everything about lifting even the ride there, even my soccer is being effected, i just feel like my heart isnt in it any more i dont really watch my diet no more, i mean i dont eat crap but i dont push my self to eat as much any more (im an ectomorph with a metabolism fast as f***) i dno whats wrong with me any 1 else had a stage like this in there life, i just cba with life at the moment lol... Im 16 btw if that helps, havent lifted sinse around september 2006, then i got injured and got back into soccer training again around december/january and sinse ive being back, nothings being the same just drained of inspiration and excitment for life tbh thanks guys PWG

haha ive had this about 50 times in the past day probably LOL. I think it might be a psychology thing, TBH there are so many variables that might effect it it would be impossible to figure it out other than sheer guesswork. Youre 16, and i dont think you really want to be under a strict routine of how you want to live your life. No teenager does. Ages 15-18 most males do kind of go down a "anti social" route as it were, in which they disregard "known goods" and just do what they want. This doesnt nessecarily mean crime or bad things, more just not going with the norm. Maybe you just dont want to be on a routine that gives you little free time in the quite frankly only time in your life you will have true blissful freedom, 16-18 are great years to live, if i were you, i would do what is fun, and return to the gym after 18, and heck by then you might have had another test boost and come back bigger and stronger, and you dont have to worry about getting fat as youre ecto. Have fun-thats my suggestion, you have a good 15-20 years left to work with your bodies optimum growth rate, why bother sticking to a strict routine for so long when you could have fun and still be healthy. Like you said you still eat healthily just not to any extreme or BB level. During my ages of 16-18 it was hard to really be interested in anything, i would start something with great enthusiasm and after an hour or so (sometimes even a minute, and sometimes before id even started) felt like doing something else. Apparently losing interest in things at a constant rate shows cruiosity and intelligence in a person, so by all means dont be disheartened by the fact that you cant think of anything exciting to do, id say this is quite normal among the young generation of people who arent being puppeted through a load of silly things such as celebrities and shizz.

Take a week off lifting, get enough sleep every night that week and you should come back feeling better.

I go threw the same phases, but I always realize how much better and more energetic I feel when I am eating right, lifting, and doing cardio regularly and I go right back into it. Sometimes it takes alittle while where I'm just slacking off alittle untill I get out fo any routine all together. Which sucks because it delays any gains you could have had by a lot, my gains go back and forth due to my lack of consistancy.

yeah dude i know what you mean i have been losing interest off and on since i started about a year and a half ago, i think it is mainly because i am short and have a hard time gaining weight so i get discouraged and it's rough forcing myself to eat

Yeah whenever I lose inspiration and just need a motivation boost, I flex all I have in the mirror and picture myself bigger than that which makes me want to lift usually
