Losing Weight! PLEASE LOOK! - Monday, December 11, 2006 4:24 PM
Hello!

I'm 14 years old and I'm over-weight.

I don't want to buff up but I want to loose weight first...

I'm started to eat healty now...

No soda, only water and Instead of cookies and chocolate bars I'm eating alot of fruit and having a healthy dinner (pasta, alot of salad...blah blah blah)

Now I just want to get an exercise routine...

See I'm on school holidays (7 weeks left) and I want to get in shape before I go back to school...

So yeah what exercises can I do too loose my belly and man boobs?

I don't want to do walking or running since it's really hot outside (119F) but I'm commited to work my ass off inside...

I was doing 100 push ups and 100 star jumps a day but I soon relieased it ani't gonna do **** so...

Could someone please help me with some advice on what exercises to do!

THANK YOU!

Do you have any sort of equipment to work with?
If not, there are all sorts of exercises you can do without equipment, or by improvising- We'll do one muscle group a day, five days a week as an example, just like some people do with weight training.
Monday- Chest
Pushups, incline pushups, dips.
Tuesday- Legs
Bodyweight squats, calf raises, lunges.
Wednesday- Shoulders
Handstand pushups (Hard, yes- But you can vary the incline at first until you can do the full handstand version.) Side lateral raises with one gallon jugs of water, front raises w/same.
Thursday- Back
Pullups- (Get one of those doorframe pullup bars if you can't find anything else.) Reverse pushups- Can be done with a couple of chairs and a strong bar, these hit the middle upper back nicely.
Friday- Arms, abs
Alternating bicep curls w/one gallon water bottle, dips
Crunches, hanging leg/knee raises- (Again, using a pullup bar of some sort.)

There are plenty of other exercises you can improvise for the different muscle groups, this is just sort of an idea for you to use... While it might not seem like pushups and star jumps will do much, you'd be surprised at how your body responds after a couple of months of working every muscle group like this- Even without weight. Cardio is also important though- Perhaps three twenty minute sessions of jumping rope at home a week would be more up your alley than jogging in that sort of heat.
It's great to hear you're starting to eat healthy- This is definitely the most important step in the right direction. Ditching the soda and candy alone will make a hell of a difference- But don't go too crazy with salads and pasta. Your body still needs good sources of protein- Lean meat, as natural as you can get it, is a must have.

I have a Gym Machine thing but I want to burn fat not buff up...Will those exercises buff me up or just burn and strenghten?

Yeah I still have meat as well, tonight I'm having mince and spagettie....

So how long each day should I do those exercises?

Thanks for your help!
