Typically simply walking around will not do you much good.
This is inaccurate. A myth.
Walking is a very effective fat burner. Because it remains below the lactic threshold, it relies primarily on fat for energy. Though the total calories burned is less than more intense training, the majority of it is from fat stores.
Weight training is also one of the most effective long term fat loss strategies. Gain muscle and you increase your overall caloric burn for the day.
To decrease the amount of fat your body will want to hold:
Dink 8-12 cups of water a day, remove high sugar foods from the diet, sleep 8 hours a night, laugh, quit stressing, eat balanced-fairly-lean-moderate-protein meals...move around more every day, get up and walk around, do not go hungry...have a snack so you are eating every 4 hours at least.
Bottom line is this:
You lose weight when you burn more calories than you consume.
Do not starve yourself: If you consume too few calories, your body will burn muscle until your caloric burn for the day is low enough...to store all available calories af fat.
