Lose weight, sustain Muscle?

Hey everyone, I'm kind of hoping to join my school's wresting team next year, But they have a 145, 140, and a 130. I'm 5'5 140 right now, but I'm trying to get to 135, and I need some tips on how I can lose fat without losing significant muscle mass. My financial status isn't that great right now, so I'm limited to bodyweight exercises and generally -free- workouts, the only real equipment I have right now are 10 pound freeweights [dumbells] and a pull up bar. So my question is, Can someone give me some tips or suggestions on how I can lose 5 pounds yet keep my muscle mass around the same?

make shure you do push ups, sit ups and chinups, along with pullups to keep ur muscle up, and eat lots of protein. to lose weight, you have to burn more calories than u eat. that doesnt mean starving your self. it justmeans eating things with lower calories, and more protein and otheer vitamens

go to failure on each exercise once each week on the final set, also add in lunges for balance and leg work other than that working on your stamina will take care of losing weight, start pushing yourself 5 minutes at a time doing any kind of cardio work or make your exercises a circuit, get a jump rope

If you're 140 right now during the off-season, you can easily make 135 once you start conditioning and practicing in-season. We used to have guys losing 8-10 lbs just during one practice. Just maintain what you have now and don't worry about making weight till the season starts.

You don't need to lose any weight dude... I wrestled anywhere from 135 to 160 this year due to a broken arm and when I came back, I wrestled up. But before I got hurt, I wrestled 135 while weighing 140 or so before the matches. You lose 5-10 pounds in an intense practice without trying to cut weight, then you drink 2 or 3 of those back and eat 2 or less and you're usually just on if you to the bathroom at least once. Relax though man, I've been out of season for one month so far... it's not that close. Like at least 6 more months til it starts up again
