This is my first post so excuse any bluders, k? So, reason I' m here is cause I was looking to use the E/C/A mix that I' ve heard about and also read about in other forums on this site. Thing is, A) I' m not sure the percentage (I was speaking to a friend and he told me which pills to buy (all legal!) that contain all the ingedients) of which substance to take, like the right ratio, can anyone help? And is it true that you should only go on it for a max of 2 weeks and then be off for a min of 2 weeks again? Should I continue with my current diet (see below)? Increase water intake to how much (currently on 2ltr religously). B) I' ve been on the Atkins diet for 2 months (and low carb for about a year before) now and I' m not cheating (have had 1 ice cream in 6 weeks and no other junk food, I' m strict!) and my weight has just stayed constant over the last 4 weeks! Though I can see improvement and cm loss there is the stubborn issue of the bum and hips area. This has some cellulite (though that has reduced remarkabley with the weight loss) and is just out of proportion to the rest of my body. Is this the right way of going about it? I do squats, use the step, ball etc to target this area as well as cardio (running, cross trainer and spin) and it IS still early days, I guess I was just looking to bounce my ideas off someone and hear a bit of feedback? Hope y' all have a good day! TS

Totally unrelated to your post, but wow, that is very unfortunate for you that you are moving to Waco. It is near where I live and I can say without hesitation: Waco=Hell. Regarding your post, about the only thing I can recommend is checking out Avant Labs' website and looking at their products, mainly Lipoderm-Y. To quote their website " Coupled with a caloric deficit, Lipoderm-Y ‘s targeted delivery accelerates localized fat loss in those typically stubborn areas, such as a woman’s lower body or a man’s midsection. Lipoderm-Y makes what was once the myth of “spot reduction†a scientifically-proven reality." In other words, it might help with that bum and hip fat. -Bryan

Not an Atkins diet fan. I think you can lose weight, and eat healthy. By cutting out cards, you are changing the primary fuel source for your body. And your brain' s primary needs carbs. That type of diet changes the natural process of the body, to burn a less efficient fuel, fat and protein. Now if you are a fan, I' m not bashing. I' m just suggesting that you can probably put together a very clean diet, that includes good foods, where you will lose weight and feel even better. Then if you are hungry still, you can try out a product called Leptigen by AvantLabs that helps with appetite and seems to have some very favorable results coming in. In this manner, you will be eating healthier and not going overboard with excess calories since weight loss is your goal. quote:
I do squats, use the step, ball etc to target this area as well as cardio (running, cross trainer and spin) You' ll lose fat overall.. there is no targeting fat loss with exercise. Doing crunches will not help reduce the fat around the abs to make your 6-pack show up. Having a diet low in fat and reducing your overall bodyfat levels, will. Drink more water. 1+ gallons a day. 2 liters is close.. almost there. As far as E/C/A.. I' m not an expert, but I would cycle it. And I would pay very close attention to how you feel when on it. If you don' t feel good about it, quit. Monitor your situation closely. Not trying to scare you or induce fear, just saying pay attention. Finally, read The Basics by Twin Peak. It' s a good place to start as far as general exercising and what supplements to take. You might benefit from that area if you are having any questions.

One thing about the Atkins is that I DON' T feel hungry, ever, on it, which is for me a sure winner You could probably do a lot better with a healthy diet and not messing around with your body' s natural fuel burning method and investigate a new product called Leptigen by AvantLabs. From the results so far, people on bulk diets and weight loss diets are saying that they DON' T feel cravings all the time either for food. Possibly you could benefit. You have to keep in mind, that your diet can be supplemented with pills and powders but that your eating habits are the ultimate test of success or failure. And of course, your intensity in the gym. You could do a lot to eat differently, eat more, boost your metabolism, boost the intensity in the gym and use the least amount of supplements possible. I just think the Atkins diet is a form of ketosis which bodybuilders use to really lean up for a contest but long term, it' s not healthy and you will plateau. If you ever fall off that diet, craving carbs, you' ll just gain weight. However, if you adjust your eating habits to eat more, eat clean foods, then you won' t really be on a diet. You will just have a healthy eating, well rounded lifestyle. The E/C/A will do you good. Heard lots of people say the results are real. Just reminding you to monitor your situation and how you feel. If at any point you don' t feel good after taking it, quit.

Thanks again for your reply Mark, points taken, esp about the Atkins. Though I believe that when you are in phase 4 of the atkins lifestyle (as they like to call it), you actually are eating a well balanced diet (though yucky white bread/pasta are out!) of complex carbs, veg/fruit and protien that doesn' t mean you' re on a diet but a different eating habits, much like you said. I believe the Atkins diet gets such bad publicity because of its liberal ways with fats, though these are only ' good fats' such as nut and olive, etc. No hydrogonised/saturated crap. And the ' induction phase' (1) is only really meant to be followed for a min of 2 weeks, I think max 6 months, and then gradually ease in more complex carbs. They say you should stick to the induction until you lose the bulk of your weight. So I' m gonna gradually introduce carbs and see if that helps. I feel much better on it, especially cutting out simple carbs and sugar. A v good website to go to (hope this isn' t considered advertising!) is http://atkins.com/. As for the E/C/A I took my first ' hit' today, and boy oh boy, did it feel like I' d caught a jack hammer in my clothes when I was getting dressed! lol Will have to decrease the C ratio and see if that helps with the jitters and still gets me the results, here' s hoping!
