I used to be overweight all until about two years ago. I'm 17 years old now and in great shape. I'm 5'8" and 155lbs with 8% bodyfat. The problem is loose skin on my stomach, sides, and back. It's SO frustrating. I workout SO hard and have a great body, but I have absoltely NO tone because of this god damn skin. Yes, I know 100% that it's skin and not fat because my bodyfat % is only 8% and because I can flap it around and it's completely gross. I've posted on here before and looked all over the internet. The only answers I've gotten were to either get surgery (not an option), take fish oil, use skin firming lotion, and (my least favorite answer) it will go away itself with time. Well...I've been using skin firming lotion for the past TWO years. I've been taking fish oil for the past year. The problem ISN'T getting better. It's a serious problem. I'm starting to hate my body and myself just because of it.

im in the same boat with you really...ive had it for 3 years or so...i have it on the sides of the lower back and lowers abs. i know what you mean by no tone, it sucks because all that work and you're left with this... i used to think it was fat and lost more weight, which in turn just made it worse, so i would say dont do that...ive had more success, although miniscule, by just filling out my whole body. i tried skin firming lotion for a while, and that didnt do anything noticeable really...i go through days where it seems like my skin is tightening then stops and goes back, so im not even really sure where thats at, maybe part of it is just in my head, who knows... i have the same feeling with the, 'it will just go away' idea, because out of my experience, it hasnt so its hard to foresee that it will, but i guess given that i have it, ive just kinda accepted that and continued to work to gain muscle and what not, maybe as motivation to develop other body parts that will kick ass...

While the skin is elastic, if you have a large amount of quick weight loss, you may be suffering from loose skin. Rather than me ramble on, I wanted to point you to this article which I feel is precisely what you need to read right now. http://www.justaskmarc.com/Fitness_and_Bodybuilding_Nutrition/Weight_Loss/Everything_You_Need_To_Know_About_Loose_Skin_After_Weight_Loss/ Don’t let your body image fool you. You’ve come a long way. You eat healthy, you workout and the fact that you are e-mailing and asking for advice or just to vent shows you are concerned with your physical fitness. All you need to do is take steps to make some changes that maybe nutrition can’t help you with at this time and I think you will be shredding those pictures quite soon. It’s loose skin from a massive amount of quick weight loss. The good news is… You can do something about it! Exercise and diet won’t do anything for you in that regard, but it’s quite common when people lose a lot of weight quickly. The even better news is… I bet you are very lean and if you were to do an actual body fat test, you’d come out on top with excellent marks. It’s just the loose skin is giving you are bad self image. My recommendation is to seek qualified medical advice and see what your options are in terms of removing the excess loose skin. Read that article, several times as it really should hit home.

Thanks, but that article is basically just repeating everything I said in the first post. =(

I have the same problem except, I am only 15 years old and I lost the weight while going through puberty. When i was young I was fat and had what some call "man boobs" i guess i lost plenty of weight but i still have "puffy" nipples and loose skin to my chest i've started working out and i actually have chest muscles but i dont think i'll get buff enough to fill in the loose skin my condition will most likely go away in time but im a kid and i want to go swimming and be a kid but this holds me back i used to take fish oil pills but i've never tried skin tightening cream cuz i figured it'd be awkward

i am in the same position you are in. i lost about 40lbs in 7 months, but can't get rid of the excess skin and "chicken" flab that lies right under portions of my chest, back, lats, and lower abs. im only 5'6", and losing that much weight is a lot. its frustrating because i work so hard just to MAINTAIN the way i look. if i gain the slightest amount of weight, it goes straight to my problem areas. and whenever a tiny bit of weight around those areas (usually around the holidays), i feel like i look fat and that the results of my hard work have just went to waste. as such, i have to stick to a strick clean diet just to look like what i feel is half-way decent. it sucks.
