Hi Everyone. My name is John, and I have just started looking into doing some weights after being introduced by a few... bigger friends :). I am 15 years old, and have already started doing a few exercises here and there for around 2 months now. I currently own one 25lbs dumbell at home. First, let me tell you what I am trying to achieve. I am trying to build good strong shoulder and arm muscles where I can clearly see them without flexing. I am looking to find a quick way to get to this stage. I AM willing to work towards this goal . Now let me tell you where I am right now. My right arm, I can do 15 arm curls at once, or 3 sets of 6. Now my left arm is a bit weaker. I am only able to do 12 arm curls, and 3 sets of 5. Now this is with my 25lbs dumbell. I am NOT doing this every day. Maybe once or twice a week if I remember. Like I said, it really varies (I know this is bad). Does anyone have any suggestions as to what I should do? Any advice at all. A friend of mine has a bowflex machine, and I can have access to a whole set of dumbells, including some standard weight room equipment at another friend's complex 'club house'. Thank you very much for reading, and hopefully, I can glean a few things from the pros at DiscussBodyBuilding :). Thank you, John

You'll need dumbbells, a barbell and free weights if your friend has them then your going to be at his place a lot. Find info about workout plans and exercises on this forum it will take a little bit of looking around and experimenting but that means you can find one that suits you. Eat loads of healthy food high in protein and carbohydrates, make sure your meals are balanced and that your eating every 2-3 hours. You might want to start taking a weight gainer after you start working out properly. Make sure you always use correct form, to build muscle people usually do 3 or 4 sets of 10 reps.

Thanks everyone. I think I will go ahead and get a few more dumbells. Yes, I only have one single 25lbs dumbell at home, and it sure isn't working. Maybe another 25lbs, and two 10lbs ones to work out my shoulders. I have another question. How long each day should I spend on this? one hour a day? 5 days a week? Thank you, John
