Long on going wrist problem

I've had a problem with my left wrist for going on two years and I would like to know what steps I can take to resolve the probleem. It started after a session down the gym doing fore arm exercises about 2 yrs a go and resulted in a cracking feeling down the left side of my left wrist. Although the feeling was uncomfortable I wasn't feeling any pain so carried on down the gym with the aid of a wrist strap for extra support. As the aggravation got worse the tighter I strapped my wrist until I had to stop through fear of causing permanent damage. The problem progressed to include soreness to the tendons in the palm of my hands to shape random pains to the left hand side of the hand shooting up to the wrist and a slight pain in the fore arm. I have since a consultant at the hospital and had an MRI scan with results coming back clear and feel I have been left in a position of not knowing what to do next. Can anyone help or give advice...thanks jay

OK, you went to the hospital and it looked clean? I'm assuming you meant emergency room as you did not mention a follow up with a sports doctor. Let me point out to you that the hospital is where people work whose main concern is that you don't die or sufferent permanent harm. After that they patch you up and move you out (no this was NOT a dig at those wonderful people who work Emergency rooms, just an aknowledgement of the reality). Have you seen someone who specializes in sports medicine? In an office? One on one? If not, then you DEFINATELY need to do so. Paul
