I love to invent new recipes and cook them up to see how they turn out.

hey.. it's good to hear that i'm not the only wannabee chef at DB! i love to cook, and have lots of different influences in my cooking. Because i am bulking for the most part i eat alot of pasta, rice, red meat and chicken. So alot of my diet is based around indian, italian generally food which has alot of flavour. I particularly like italian becuase you can dress up a simple plate of pasta into a quick nutritious snack or a gourmet plate of food, both of which can be conducive to building qualty muscle and aid recovery. I don't really follow recipes, but if i try something new i'll find out whats in it and make it myself, so if i post a recipe but don't specify quantities, it's just trial and error, which i think is the best way anyway, as everybody's taste and pallets differ. Will post some of my favourites later on.....i'm goin to throw some iron around:)

ya, i like to cook. Actually, Ive been cooking in restaurants for 4-5 years now and I am currently in culinary school. A decent recipe/dish I created during our nutrition lab included: -grilled salmon(poached or roasted would work just as well) -wild rice pilaf (used chix stock as the cooking liquid and added diced veggies for color and flavor) -sauted green beans (use extra virgin olive oil as the fat, add garlic and other healthy ingredieants to add flavor--such as almonds, pepper, etc.) -I created an orange glaze to top the salmon with. Remove skin from orange sections, added orange juice, then thickened with a slurry) Everything was very healthy, tasted great, and went well together. This is an excellent tasting and nutritious dish. It provides protein from the salmon, healthy fats from the evo oil and salmon, and decent carbs from the wild rice. The orange glaze really sets it off. No extra sugar added, just those naturally found in the orange and orange juice.

thehardway: -the obvious ingredient not listed is oil but im sure you know that I havent tasted this but I believe what you are most likely missing is miso (fermented soy beans). Comes in a package, soft texture, light brown/tan. You can prolly find it at your nearest asian market. -also, sambal chili sauce would add spice if that is missing -plus, you could add a citrus flavoring liquid such as ponzu to add more acid/give it a citrus taste.

Absolutely not oil, one of the reasons I like it is no fat, which means I can use fat somewhere else ; ) There is no heat. It is just very very clean and bright flavor, with a wonderful texture. You might have it with the miso though, ponzu I have never heard of, it's a possibility as well. Maybe a combo. Hmm, the dressing is not very acidic at all, so if ponzo would add acidity, than that is probably not the case. Miso on the other hand is very soft, and soothing, that could balance out the rice wine vinegar. It is the balance plus texture that makes that dressing so wonderful! Megaman, if that does it then you have made many people so happy. I have promised numerous tampopo salad dressing devotees, that I would figure out how to make it, and I think you just did for me. I'll let you know.
