Lifting Weights in the morning - Monday, June 29, 2009 6:29 AM ( #1 )
Well, I'm trying to bulk up. I know you have to eat more, but I was doing "research" and I came across a person who said "Lifting weights in the morning is only beneficial if you're trying to lose weight, if you're trying to gain muscle mass, you have to do it in the afternoon". Is that true?

No. Lift weights when you feel physically and mentally ready.

i read sumwhere there is a mor ebeneficial time to lift but, tbh any difference is probably minimal, and the important thing is that u go and lift, not wat time of day u do it. go wen u prefer, u'll enjoy it more.

Your goal when lifting weights to build muscle is to get stronger.  Really, that's it.  Get stronger in whatever rep range allows you to make consistent progress.

If you can accomplish this in the morning, so be it.  I personally hate training first thing in the morning.  I like to get some food and caffeine in me beforehand.  If you don't have to train early, then don't.
