Let's share protein shake ideas

Let's share protein shake ideas - Friday, September 05, 2008 11:59 AM ( #1 )
Here's a few of mine

Each contains a base of:
8-16 oz milk
1 cup oats
1 scoop choc whey

Then I add one of the following:

- 1 large banana for a choc banana shake
- A bunch of strawberries for a choc strawberry shake
(The flavor of the fruits really prevail above everything else)
- 1-2 tbsp of honey + 1 oz of almonds for a honey almond shake
- A bunch of frozen brocolli for a post workout shake w/ extra nutrition (you can't even taste it)
- 2 tbsp pb for an extra thick shake (I don't taste the pb that much)

That's all I can think of right now.  Your turn.

Handful of ice
8 oz. of milk
1 large banana
2 tablespoons of nat. pb
2 scoops of choco. whey

or

Handful of ice
8 oz. of milk
1 large banana
1 cup of blueberries
2 scoops of choco. whey

or

Handful of ice
8 oz. of milk
1 large banana
2 teaspoons of honey
2 servings of almonds
1 tablespoon of nat. pb
1 scoop of choco. whey

Little bit of water
Scoop of whey
1 banana
frozen berries
couple spoons of unsweetened cocoa powder
some ice

I would also put some peanut butter or yogurt in there but I am cutting right now so I can't afford it.

Does cocoa powder taste significantly different than chocolate whey?  I never thought of using that.

Also, I usually avoid putting yogurt in my shake.  I don't like the flavor it adds.  Much better on its own IMO.

you sound like a bulker!!

kidding just jealous!

I was really just joking - its a stupid "Recipe."  However, I do think adding a little real sweeteners to these artificially sweetened protein powders makes a world of difference.
 
Reading your recipe again - I'm quite sure that your protein shake brings all the boys to the yard.

ON 100% WHEY PROTIEN MILK CHOC - 2 scoops
WHOLE MILK - 1.5 cups
1 Banana

or

ON 100% WHEY PROTIEN MILK CHOC - 2 scoops
WHOLE MILK - 1.5 cups
Quick 1 minute oatmeal plain - 1 cup

You basically just eat the oatmeal like regular cereal, but you use the protien shake as the milk!!! It's much better then hot oatmeal, which makes me sick.

or

ON 100% WHEY PROTIEN Cookies and cream flavor - 2 scoops
WHOLE MILK - 1.5 cups
PEANUT BUTTER - 3 to 4 tbsps. 

OMG, is that last one good!!!!

No I never tried that before.  Hot oatmeal makes me think of puke though, ahhhh.  I actually like it when I eat it cold.

250-300ml whole milk
1 banana
2 tbl spoons of oatmeal
2 teaspoon of 100%honey
1 scoop chocolate whey powder
1 fullspoon of peanut butter
6-8 ice cubes

mix in blender

It's sooo good! =D

2 scoops soy protein
Some strawberries, blueberries
1 banana or 1/2
4 tsp spirulina
1 cup vanilla soy milk
1 cup orange, or apple, or carrot

If you want less fat use apples instead of bananas.  They both have the same amount of potassium.

Height: 6'1"

Weight: 187lbs

BMI: 9% lost 3%

Supplements:  Soy protein, NO Xplode, Creatine Mono, CarboMAX

i do:
1 scoop vanilla whey protein
1 banana
half a cup full of raspberries, blueberries, and blackberries
a diced up peach
a scoop of raspberry sorbet
about 250ml of strawberry soy milk
a tbsp of honey
 
...i'll also sometimes add an egg or two if i'm drinking this for breakfast.

The great thing about protein shakes is that you can add almost anything good into them, and they will still taste well.

I use 3 scoops of vanilla weight gainer ( I needs me my calories lol...700 calories in 3 scoops)
1 frozen banana
1 table spoon of peanut butter ( I just throw in a massive ball of the stuff :P)
a squeeze of nesquick chocolate syrop
and about 2 cups of water

Gives me just about 1000 calories and almost 90grams of protein.
