Leg Pain - Tuesday, November 09, 2004 6:34 AM ( #1 )
I have another question for everyone. Everyone here has been a great help and I thank everyone for there input.

Anyways, this is my concern: When I bowl I get a pain in my leg that is just awful. Its almost like a stabing pain. It used to only bother me when I bowled and now its starting to bother me during my workouts as well. The funny thing is that while Im bowling it gets to the point where I can barely walk, but about an hour after Im done the pain is real faint and it really only hurts if I was to go up stairs or something of that nature. It seems to be the lunging forward motion that really bothers it.

The pain seem to be in the front of lower part of my thigh right above the knee and works its way up from there. It also feels like the pain is below the muscle and it will eventually work its way up to the middle of my thigh and around to the outside of my leg and into the hip if I continue to bowl. Now I have asked my doctor about this but he isnt sure. Generally speaking the hip doesnt hurt that much its just uncomfortable. If I sit down while my leg hurts the pressure from pushing the back of my leg up makes it hurt as well. Now I dont know if this is from a week muscle or what but man does it hurt, I bowled in a tournament this weekend and after making it to the finals I had to bow out because the pain. It got to the point where I could barley walk and it had me sweating and on the verge of throwing up, and again it didnt matter if I stood, sat, rubbed my leg or anything. I had also tried taking several Motrin and Aleve before hand because I knew it was going to hurt and that didnt even phase the pain.

If someone out here has had a similar pain in there leg from doing lunges or anything like that and have gotten rid of this pain or done something to ease it please let me know! Also if anyone has anysuggestions or any idea of what might be causing this type of pain please let me know, and again any input is greatly appreciated. I look forward to any responses and have a great day all!

Sounds like a pinched nerve.

Have you tried warming up and stretching before doing any activity that would aggravate it?
