I would be more concerned with your agilty, balance, speed, and stregth as opposed to bodyfat for football. You dont want to lose any of those. You said you play in college, dont you have mandatory workouts? I know you usually get maybe a week off to recover then its right back to workouts. I would follow the lifting program your coaches put you through and the agility drills. Concentrate on eating right. Skip the pizza and buggers and eat chiken and other lean cuts of meat. Good carbs from whole grains. Skip sugary soda and other drinks. Make sure you balance your meals evenly every 2-3 hours, 6-8 meals per day. Doing this you should be able to keep your strength and agility and lower your bodyfat. I wouldnt recomend doing a bodybuilder cut becasue you are not going to gain any strength while cutting and will probably lose stregth or stay the same at best. If you work hard, I bet you can lower your bf by 10% by football season in 7 months.

HE is right...focus on your sport specific training and clean up the diet.

That will do it.  No need to go to some extreme, that will only cause other problems.

The fat will go fast enough...don't even worry about it.

Yes, that scale is wrong!

Calipers would be ok.

But don't worry about the % fat.
Focus on your SKILL!!
