Here's to my first bulking log So i've been around the boards now for a few months and learned heaps of good info and thought I'd share my upcoming bulking session with everyone. For those wanting to know a bit about me, I'm 20 years old and just a few months ago I was a smoker of 3 years, drank often, and swore by pizza. Well that's all out the window now. I got my diet in check, lost the bad habits, and am ready to hit the weights hard. I've always been a pretty strong guy, but nowhere close to where I wanted to be. The last 6 weeks I've been doing the Max-OT routine (5 days, 1-2 bodyparts, 45 min intense workouts) and have seen some good results. More importantly I feel though is that I'm familiar with all the exercises and feel my form is up to par now. I'm just shy of 6ft and weigh 188lbs. My plan is to bulk for 50 days (full cycle of X-Factor) and then begin cutting. I'm working on getting measurements and BF% for all of you. My bulking will begin starting Monday, Jan 15th as I'm resting my body and waiting for my supps to arrive. The supp's ill be using are X-Factor, ActivaTe, Cellmass, Animal Pak. From what I've read X-Factor and ActivaTe make for quite a, if not the most, potent NH stack to date. Here's a pic of where I'm at right now: Full routine details and measurements will be provided to you all prior to the beginning of my bulk on monday.

Opinions wanted, should I ... take 3x activate a day, starting 10 days into X-Factor cycle or take 4x activate a day, starting 20 days into X-Factor cycle?

as of now i've changed my mind and decided to start activate 20 days into x-f, taking 4x, rather than 10 days in, taking 3x. Tracking my shipment, supps won't arrive till TUESDAY, rahhh, in any event im starting to workout tomarrow.

My log will be starting tomarrow. I chose to start tomarrow for multiple reasons, most importantly being that my supps aren't coming in until tomarrow. We actually had our first ice storm last night, end result my car being entirely enclosed by a thick coat of ice. Despite this and being MLK day, I still had classes :( Hitting the weights hard tomarrow, looking forward to sharing my next 7 weeks, they'll be some crazy gains, i can already forsee it.

Day 1 - Tuesday - Arms So today was day 1. I got my supp's (woo!) and hit arms. The weights are a little less than my last arm workout the week prior, but next week I think i'll be up to speed. Straight Bar Curls 3 x 4-6 6x6x6 @ 65lbs Straight Bar Cable Curls 2 x 6 6x6 @ 96lbs Tricep Cable Pressdowns 2 x 6 6x5 @ 72lbs Triceps Extensions 2 x 6 6x6 @ 90lbs Wrist Curls 2 x 6-8 8x8 @ 45lbs Dumbbell Wrist Curls 1 x 6-8 8x8 @ 35lbs/p NOTE about Format: #'s in bold represent reps, not sets (ex. I did 2 sets of 6 Straight Bar Cable Curls @ 96lbs, not 6 sets of 6) My arms felt great after the workout. For the most part i'll be moving up weights in almost all exercises. A few exercises were excluded, mainly because I didn't want to blow my arms out and on a few of the exercises getting that last 6th rep was a struggle and I wanted to leave my muscles w/ that level of intensity. BTW not a fan of ON 100% whey cookies and cream =\ chocolate was much better imo I'll leave you w/ notes about x-factor and (eventually) activate as I begin to feel their effects.

Well me and my buddy have a scheduling problem due to his new school schedule (mon/wed he's at school from 9am - 10pm, ?!) so were either going to start going before school or take mon/wed as our off days.

Day 3 - Thursday - Shoulders/Traps Shoulders (and legs) have always been my weak point but today I had great pumps and finally feel I'm building up my core strength. Really looking forward to seeing how much I improve in shoulders. Military Press (front) 3 x 4-6 6x6x5½ @ 95lbs Dumbbell Press 2 x 4-6 6x6 @ 40lbs DB's (80) Dumbbell Side Laterals 2 x 6-8 8x8 @ 20lbs DB's (40) Barbbell Shrugs 2 x 4-6 -x- @ 185lbs (Gotta look up on shrug's form, wasn't sure if I did these correct) Upright Rows (close grip) 2 x 4-6 6x6 @ 115lbs Did an intense cardio (15-20min) right after workout. I feel greaaat :D Time to go eat me some chiggen!

My daily nutrition usually looks like this (on non-school days) Kashi Go Lean Crunch Cereal for breakfast (good fiber, protein, carbs) w/ 1 cup whole milk, bannana, apple sauce Either 1 ham or turkey sandwich or 2 smaller sandwiches on wheat bread and w/ some OJ Soup, usually tomato or chicken noodle ;D along with some veggies, mainly carrots 8oz.+ chicken breast or drumsticks after workout + potatos + more veggies 2 servings cottage cheese + milkkk before i fall asleep and throughout the day ill help myself to more bananas, apple sauce, etc. drink about a gallon+ water a day. im a little concerned I might be getting too much protein so i'll be paying more attention to the things I eat, however I dont think this should be a problem as X-F increases protein synthesis I believe. It's not a GREAT diet by all means but i do stick to organic and home cooked meals so I think im doing good. I did count calories a few weeks back so I have a good idea of how much I need to eat to gain lbs.

Day 7 - Monday - Legs Ahh leg's. I've neglected working out legs since freshmen year back in HS. Squats 3 x 4-6 6x6x8 @ 185lbs Leg Press 2 x 4-6 6x8 @ 360lbs SLDL 3 x 4-6 6x8 @ 135lbs Seated Calf Raises 3 x 6-8 8x8x8 @ 110lbs As you can see I was doing more reps than Max-OT asks but I feel getting my form down and getting over my fear of squats is more important. Next week i'll be upping all the weights and trying to go until 6 reps.
