What would all u suggest for a knee protection during squat. Like just a sleeve to pull over ur knee....or something that velcros and goes real tight that allows full movement?

Full powerlifting wraps..(like an ace bandage but sturdier) learn how to wrap em from a coach or pro powerlifter. They kick A**. Very supportive and really make you feel powerful.

I powerlifted with pros and they all used them in training for the heavier lifts. That boost is only support and a mental boost...thats the best protection I know.

I suspect that you know what the feel of a good wrap is if you've competed and such...that really secure feeling is what I look for. I am not really familliar with Inzer knee wraps...I don't even know what mine are! I have a wetsuite style knee wrap that I will wear when out of the gym... if I did some lifting that just makes walking even hard, just to keep me feeling like I won't fall apart..you know what I mean! that is just to support the joint, keep the swelling down, make me feel comfortable, and keep the area warm. I would not train with that though. If I need it in training, I prefer my full wrap.

So u reccomend not wearing any type of like brace for lifting. Like one of the basic ones with a whole in the middle where ur knee should be. I dont have any pain in my knee today so Im gonna try to lift tmw on squat. If when im warning up I feel anything should I quite?

Of course, you can lift with the neoprene wrap. It keeps the joint stabilized and warm. I prefer the full wrap. But either is fine. IF you have a knee issues as you mentioned elsewhere...you might want to actually "fix" it once and for all. Have you seen anyone about it? You may have scar tissue in there that can be removed and that would take care of it. Leaving it only makes the probelm worse over time. Get it resolved.

My team trainer (hes really good) told me it was just a mild sprain. Besides, would scar tissue just come out like that. Iwas jumping when it happened. So far....walking up stairs and down stairs doesnt hurt. Squatting down and doing lunges with no weight (havent tried with weight...tmw i will though) doesnt hurt. Walking doesnt hurt, nor does jogging. And with a neoporne sleeve everything feels really good. So im gonna give squatting a go. Im gonna warm-up with 3 sets and stretch really good and stuff. And if i feel very little pain or anything im gonna do it up... Would i get weaker from this injury?

If you have a mild sprain...I would ICE it at intervals, keep it wrapped and wait for the twinge to subside before training. See, the muscles are not giong to be weaker, but the joint is compromised a tiny bit. I am in this for the long haul, so I always like to let injuries heal instead of jumping on them. If that was a spreained ankle, would you recommend running a race? No, you would recommend waiting until the sprain healed. It does sound mild. If that's correct, then GREAT!!! But I would still recommend giving it a break. Go have some 'out of the gym' fun on leg night this week...and then come back in a week and check it out again.

I already took a week off so.....Im still gonna try squatting heavy. What i'll do is this.....just to be careful:ice before I squat in one class, put icey hot on, put on the neoprone sleeve and warmup. For warm-up I will....put 135 on and do it up like 5 times, if that feels fine then I will put on 225 and if that feels fine ill put on 275 and if that feels fine I will just go about my regualr squat routine. If there is even a little pain i'll work threw it. U think if it hurts to squat it will hurt to deadlift....because i once had a deadlift where it hurt to deadlift but not squat...so i was jus wonderin.
