Ketosis help

Hey guys i've read a bunch of posts about ketosis as well as interviews with gary taubes, I just don't completely get it. Nothing I have read has really been straight forward. Here are my questions- What exactly is the ketosis diet? Is it just a low-carb diet? What should i be eating, what shouldn't I? Is the Good Calories, Bad Calories (or whatever it's called) book by Taubes worth it? Can you REALLY eat anything as long as you keep carbs down (e.g. unhealthy/fatty foods) or are there certain types of fat and protein that you can eat? Are calories not really taken into consideration? If so, is it possible to bulk and cut at the same time with this diet (high calories+protein for bulking and low carbs for cutting)? Is it an extremely strict diet (for instance, does slipping up for a meal or two have a large effect)? I've never really been one to plan meals... Anyone have any success stories? I am currently just doing a regular cutting diet (keeping calories below maintenance and doing a good amount of cardio/gym)... How does it compare? Do most people find better results with ketosis? Thanks in advance everyone

Thanks in advance everyone just look at the why you should be on keto thread, and for those of u on keto post your diet thread. there is no sense in me or anyone else explaining this whole thing again in another thread. and as far as good calories, bad calories book, it is easily one of my favorites. its a very good read, i strongly recommend it
