Started today, as I have 5 months left until I need to see my abs (turning 40 then) I did one a couple of years back and remember that I got very irritable in the first week, sometimes aggressive even. Now all I have so far is an ever increasing headache and the desire to eat an entire cake with beer ... What else would I need to expect besides the already mentioned? Thanks, Frank

ive been on keto for about 4 weeks and the only change is better gains and slightly more energy.

now in my 5th day I'm down 5.5 lbs. down 1/2" stomach/waist 22 lbs of blubber still to loose, 10 lbs of muscle to gain. I hate chicken for breakfast...

If thats waterweight, shouldn't the scale show a higher bodyfat %? I know they are not that accurate, but still. The 'burn' sensation is probably coming next week. Once that starts the weight comes off quickly. It did a couple of years ago.

Once ketosis sets in, the energy level goes up and it feels like you are burning up the fat.

Last time I did that I could feel the metabolism switch to burning fat. Same happens during ultra distance races, feels like a second wind. It just feels as if you're burning the fat. At least for me. Maybe if you do regular bulking/cutting cycles you're used to it more. How much do you lose per week while in ketosis? I ended up with 20 lbs in 1 month (which stayed that way for over 2 years after the ketodiet was over).

im bulking now so ive been gaining about 1.5-2lb. a week out of that 20lb. how much was fat?

Pretty much all of it. At least thats what the calipers said. And I needed new clothes. Now with 2 kids and a carreer that has crept back up, so now its gotta go.

about 2 hrs a day plus commuting 10mls each way by bike. Plus lots of protein. The weight I had gained until then was due to heavy corticosteroids (asthma) for several years, which I finally got under control just before the diet. Before that I used to row on national level and race MTB worldcup, so basically a comeback as an athlete. Training was no news to me.

was at about 10% bf Back then i just ate all the time I raced on international level until 2 years ago, quite sucessfully, too. Cardio was the main focus then.
