It's NOT normal IMO, in the first session of working out, you don't need to stress your muscles that hard to feel the pain the next morning. But that's the nice feeling of pain.
By the way, I'm glad you decided to train, stick to this site, it will acknowledge you with decent stuffs.
Smile
You should post the workout you did.

Pain is nothing to measure a workout by. Sometimes I feel it and times I dont. Dont think that you have not worked out too hard or need to jack up your weights cause you dont feel pain.

Dont be too stressed by it, pain will com eventually Smile

Truebeginner is right in saying that there is good pain. Like the pain in your legs after leg day when you can barely stand up much less walk.

SmileWell, people who work out the very FIRST day, will get good pain the next day IMO. Don't you think so? Im not saying he should aim for soreness, he was just asking if it is normal, and IMO it's not normal.Smile

I just worked out yesterday for the 1st time in a month and a half, I did flat bench , flies, incline bench, lat pull downs, shrugs, etc. My chest and tri's were a little sore this morning, but now they are pretty damn sore. But it's a good sore. I'm gonna do legs tomorrow, and I'm sure the next day I'll be walking slow, but it's part of the process....

Hi Zeus1985,

Probably best if you put in your workout and weights reps etc to see what kinda pain you put your muscles through.

General soreness pain is good and can often be a motivator to get back at it. Maybe your workout lacked something so lets have a look at it and see.

I did legs yesterday.......... Smile   I need a wheelchair today.....Smile

Are you an Asian? From your nickname, I assume so. How could you maintain your muscles after no training in a month and a half?? You're pretty big if that's you in your avatar.

No, I'm not Asian, I've had that screen name for years, the origin of it is motorcycle related........Anyway, that pic was taken before I injured my ribs and was out a month and a half. I lost just a little muscle from the layoff, I kept my protein intake high and did some cardio while I waited to heal. It's great to be back lifting again.
