Well, my goals are to gain muscle and lose enough fat to see abs, but I probably need to get an exercise bike to get into the cardio routine since I can't run due to a birth defect. Last time I weighed myself was way back in November and I was 192 lbs. (down from 211 lbs. in July). I'm probably right around 200 lbs. now though due to whole winter, eating and sitting around thing. Oh yea, I'm 6'0" tall and am relatively muscular beneath the fat. I am medium-boned body type. The first workout went well (actually I just finished a few minutes ago and I'm pumped). I basically just lifted barely enough to get the blood moving again in all the major muscle groups (Incline barbell bench to prevent future **** tits, barbell shoulder press., tri. pulldown, lat pulldown, barbell curl, squats, 3 sets of each where the 1st 2 sets were basically warm-up sets and the 3rd set was only slightly higher). I'm not exactly a beginner, but I haven't lifted since November. I figure just to get back into it again will take a good month. I'm going to do 3 days a week, overall body workout type of thing without too much intensity for the 1st month. I also want to get an excercise mat, slantboard, or one of those stands that you rest your elbows on for abs. I set up my Gold's Gym XR 37 yesterday in my garage. I just bought the house, so I have an empty garage which I'll use for all my equipment. Probably get a small ceramic heater for area heating in the winter and a fan for the summer. Maybe I'll eventually spring for the in-the-wall 1 to 2 ton ac/heat pump unit. Also got a 300 lb Olymipic plate/barbell set. Still need something in terms of dumbells/curl bar, etc. Well boys, I could tell I'm gonna be hurtin' in the morning.

Welcome Rhino!!!!

Look forward to seeing your progress. What's your diet look like? Mine's still a train wreck :-)

Yea, my diet is hell too. I probably won't worry about the diet so much in terms of eating enough protein, etc. until I start to plateau. Also, diet has little to do with weight loss for me. The only way I really lose weight is when I do cardio. Right now, my muscles all hurt from yesterday due to the lactic acid buildup, but at least I was expecting it.

2nd day went slightly better than the first, but about the same. Same workout as the first day.

I felt pretty good today for workout number 4. Today was the first day I really started to feel like some of my strength was returning. It was beyond flukey.

Welcome.

Check out the goals thread, It is a great way for you to see what others goals are and help you develop tangible goals for yourself. It looks like you are hitting the the same muscle groups on consecutive days, if you are it is not a good idea. I know every person is different, but it is a definite rule of thumb.
