Hi all,
This is my first time posting here and would like some thoughts. I'm a 44 year old male who is just getting started on getting a better body. I'm 6' and 181.5 pounds. I have what you might call a small pot belly that I really don't like. My arms are only 14 1/4 inches and I feel they are way to small for my size. I'm working on what I eat. I really have not been eating all that well, you know junk food, fast food and such.

About a month ago I went out and got a boxflex Xtreme 2 but have not used it yet. What I would like to know is what do you think about this home gym?
I'm not looking to try and become a huge bodybuilder. I just want to get in shape and add a little mass so I don't look so small for my size. But if later on I wanted to try and build up some more do you think this home gym could give me some good gains?

Sorry about sounding like a total newbe here but I really am when it comes to this stuff. Thanks for any advice you might be able to offer about using this home gym.

Welcome to DB!
The bowflex is a great piece of equipment for getting in shape and adding some muscle- But if you want to go beyond that, nothing beats free weights. When it comes to losing that gut, cardio and nutrition are the keys- Good to hear you're getting started in a healthy lifestyle, perhaps you could post something about your eating habits in the nutrition forum for some more help in that area.

Thanks for the feedback. As I get my eating habits going the right way I'll post there. Right now I know I'm not eating right at all. a lot of fast food high in fat I'm sure. I have been looking at some of the other post here in hopes of putting together a good outline on what to eat and how much.

Seems to be a lot of good information on these boards.

Thanks again.
