Just a few questions - Friday, June 20, 2008 4:03 PM
What are ya'lls thoughts on Nautilus curls? Usually I'm not real big on machines, but I think these work your biceps awesome. It's like doing a preacher curl but with a machine. Plus it's easier on my wrists so I can go heavier. I did these today and I was pumped out of my mind. Seriously my biceps felt like they were ripping out of my skin.

Next question, does it matter if I split my workout into twice a day? I have school from 8 to 10:15, then a break from 10:15 to 1. Then school from 1 to 3. Then I go to the YMCA so I can workout there too. My point being I have to do schoolwork during the break, plus I don't feel like getting too sweaty before I got class again. So I would it matter if I split my routine up?

Next is it allright if I get in a hot tub immediately after working out? Does it matter? I just ask because someone said it could mess with your muscles and your muscles won't take in as much nutrients or something like that.

Thanks if you have any answers to these quetions.

i'm not big into machines at all.  one thing i hate about watching other people work out is that they don't exercise properly, especially with curls.....and this is what i mean

when you do curls, you're supposed to squeeze your bicep.  instead, you see people bring the weight up half way, then move their elbows forward so they can bring the bar all the way to their chin, when really it's only supposed to go to about your shoulders.  this is how i tie it into machines: they allow you to move too much and change the way you work out.  using free weights and doing them properly is the best possible technique.  i gurantee if you used free weights, and did them perfectly, you would get just a good pump and better results.

and why does it matter if you can go heavier? you can do exercises wrong and still get pumps, and they won't have a huge effect on your growth

All I meant when I said heavier is that I can use weight that actually works my biceps without hurting my wrists.
