Just need to check a few things... - Thursday, March 13, 2008 7:18 AM ( #1 )
Hi guys, ive been going down the gym now for around three weeks.
I go three times a week.
I have been working a lot on my chest as i have no muscle there but i also work everything else too the best i can.
im not very strong so i cant lift a lot but i do three sets of  4-8 reps to failure on each excercise.
I am starting to do more cardio now as i have put on some muscle and want to start removing the fat.

I try to eat a lot but find it hard, i am also a vegetarian.
i eat healthily.
i aim for three decent meals a day
i eat a lot of tuna, eggs, nuts, vege burgers etc that contain good protien.
i have cut down on my sugar intake (as in sugar in my tea etc) as i hear sugar loves to turn to fat?
no fast food, rarley any sweets.

i do drink but i only drink wine and will only drink on weekends.

I have a some fat around my stomach and my chest that i want to get rid of. I dont want to get huge i just want to tone up to the point where i have little fat.

i just need to know whether i am on the right track or not?
and how much cardio i should do to lose fat while keeping muscle growth?

thanks guys.
luke

I'd cut all the sugar from your diet if you wanna lose fat. Sugar is the "white devil".

I admit it seems strange that i will eat tuna but not meat. I have my reasons behind it but i dont think here is the place to discuss that really.
I Just want to get info on what i need to change or what im doing right so i can tone up.
As i said before i just wanna loose the small amount of fat on my body and build some amount of muscle.

im cutting all white sugar out of my diet from today.
if i am eating 3 meals a day and in between im eating things like nuts etc will that help at all? i just find it really hard to eat a lot of food. I also suffer badly from a hiatus hernia which doesnt help.

any advice will be helpful
cheers

If your not to bothered about gaining big muscle then i would up your reps from 4/8 to more like 10/12. As this will work more for strength than size.
