Jon's progress! low carb! - Monday, July 20, 2009 9:27 PM ( #1 )
well i decided i would start this to monitor the great success im having with the low carb/keto diet

i started the diet at a solid 180-178 lbs at about 10% bf

so far i have been on for about a month or so now and making great progress, the fat has been melting away especially on the arms, calves, chest and upper abs, still working to get the lower abs to come out more

today i weighed it at a slim and ripped 175.6 lbs(morning weight)

my workout for today was just chest and abs, it was after a basketball game so i didn't do much

surprisingly even with low carbs my strength is still through the roof

flat bench

135 x 20

185 x 10

225 x 20

225 x 10

hanging leg raises

20 reps, rest then 15 reps

thats it for today

update! 8/3/09

maxes and goals
bench - need to remax
goal bench - 405

squat - need to remax
goal squat - 500

deadlift - need to remax
goal deadlift - 500
weight -174.8 8%bf

Good to see the diet is working for you - I've been doing this for over a week now and my strength has been zapped.

I only stayed low carb for a week. felt that I went into keto on the 2nd day. lost 5 pounds but body measurements all stayed the same. Did not have the desire to stay low carb so I got out.

it will start to get back up there once your body gets accustomed to it, i remember the first week i started i felt like crap, i was always hungry, especially for carbs and sweets, but i usually feel better after the carb up
