I dont have a picture to post...I do not have measuring tape to measure myself...but I wanted to start posting a new plan to get me going again... First, I have lost a lot of weight. I am 29 and I was tipping the scale at 187 (in high school I was 200+ pds). I am down to 140 lbs...I am 4'11. It took years of trying and failing...when it finally clicked.. it took about a year to take the weight off. I am pretty happy with the results...I am down to a size 3/4.... I did it myself...I educated myself about food. When I finally realized that starving, laxatives, and water pills do not work...I thought what about bodybuilders?? I would look at the men at the gym I go to...and they would always be eating (healthy foods of course) and they were so lean and muscular. So I decided to look into routines and eating choices bodybuilders made...the weight came off of me ...slow and steady...but it came off. I would like to lose another 10 lbs and be at 130. I want my meals to look like this: Breakfast: oatmeal and 2 eggwhites piece of fruit Lunch/Dinner: turkey or chicken or salmon with vegetables Protein shake in the evening snacks: 2-3 eggwhites or a piece of fruit or beef jerky 3 liters of water I dont take supplements (maybe that could be part of the problem). Workout kickboxing 4x/wk I am going to start to lift 3x/wk...when I lift I jump rope between sets....100 revolutions and continue with the next lift (I alternate) this is for about 30-40 mins... my goals are: -lose 10 pds -and being able to do 50 full body push-ups (non of that girl on knees crap to make it easier) non-stop...I can do about 30 full body push-ups now. I am happy with my arms and legs...they are toned! I have curves and I dont want to lose that at all...as the weight came off...I discovered I had a nice girl figure under all the mush. I just want to lose my gut!! I hope that it is fat and not loose skin...I can do something about the fat it wont cost or hurt...but I dont think I do much about loose skin. feedback is more than welcomed!!!!!

I have not written anything here...no pic...NO TIME!!!! work and school...r crazy and the study time is crazy.... I weighed myself....no gain....which is good. started lifting I am building on my shoulders and triceps....the changes are noticeable...I did not understand the concept of you can lose inches and see changes even if u did not lose weight...I have not lost a pd....my arms are a liitle more defined and so is my collar bone (I never had one before it was hidden in fat...it is coming out!!!!!) my diet is okay....I am trying to include a protein shake now that I am lifting more....I still drink at least a liter and half of water....I have noticed that I am eating too much protein or not enough fiber so I would like to have some oatmeal with some flax in the morning along with the egg whites.... I think I am drinking too much coffee...I dunno of that harms any...I use splenda non fat milk and cinnamon...I need to stay awake!!!! I do have to say I love this site!!! being healthy and working out is a lifestyle for me....I dont consider myself to be on a diet...just making good healthy choices like with anything else in our lives. It took years to figure out how to be at a healthy weight and still eat a little junk food here and there without gaining a lot of weight or feeling horrible about what I just ate. I tell all my friends that say "I need to lose weight what did you do???" to look at this site....especially all my friends on the point system (I forget what weight loss program that comes from) bodybuilders eat way more that people on the point system and have far better results...in my opinion. I need to improve on having a better plan...eating plan and workout plan....I need to define a goals set them and do them.

Life really kills the weights sometimes, doesn't it? But you're doing better than most of us by adhering to your diet during those times! Way to go!!! Looking forward to following your journal.

Did really well with my meals today... but I had two chocolate covered graham crackers from starbucks this morning... with my coffee... and five egg whites....I figured i would burn it off since I ate is to early....I had too!! no weight gain...got on the scale and it is the same. I did not get to work out today...been studying for a test today...I figure if I can at least keep my water intake up and decent meals I will be okay for today. I plan on lifting tomorrow... I want to do arms and chest tomorrow...I have nice cuts...very proud of them...so I am going to work on that and some cardio...20 mins of jump rope and a 1/2 mile run...I figure. --- thanks for the responses :) ---

yesterday I did well... I jumped rope for 20 mins...ran 1/2 mile on treadmill my trainer friend told me that in order to get rid of my roll round my stomach I need to do cardio to get rid of fat overall...since I know you cannot spot reduce with crunches, sit-ups, etc did biceps curls...started with five pd weights and increased up to 12 pds....10 reps each weight... weighted squats and lunges (leg press)....30 each.... chest press....50 pds....20 reps 30 push-ups did some pilates thrust thing on a medicine ball the trainer told me to do with a medicine ball...he said it worked the glutes and hamstrings....I was down for that...anything for a tight booty. this morning I had a protein shake...I blended half a banana in their....started drinking my water...cannot work out today the gyms I go are closed...but I am in it tomorrow. I again attempted the pull up bar...yeah it did not happen...

I could be thinking my gut is getting bigger...because that is all I see when I look in mirror...it could be just in my head.

Losing weight is not common-sense. Common-sense tells people to just eat less to lose fat. The less you eat the better. This is horrible way to think, but it make unfortunatly it makes sense to the uneducated person. Congratulations on figuring out what really works. "Slow and Steady". There is no better way. Best of luck.

Best of luck. Gracias a LOT!!! It is a lot of work in the beginning...but now it is just part of my life. I have friends that have been on these "weight loss" programs-they have either looked the same for months/years -or- lost a lot of weight then it all comes back. I did this too...obviously, it did not work...I was like 200 lbs. When my friends ask me what I did to lose weight...I tell them about web sites I go to (DBB-I am here a trillion times a day and Mercola.com) and books I have read that have helped me in the process (Kay Sheppard From the First Bite <---really good book about food addiction and sugars). Most of the time they don't listen...I am just trying toget them to understand that the caramel frappe and scone from Starbucks in the morning is pretty much going to set the food choices and craving for the rest of the day (even if it is the small and half of scone)... oh well...hard work gets the good results-that is what I am learning in this process.

dang!! this week was bad for going to the gym...I only made it twice...thought 'bout going today...but I have a test coming up next week that I needs to pass. I did weigh myself--no gain which is GOOD. when I went from 145-140 lbs I did a lot of sprints, jumping rope, lower body stuff (weighted lunges, squats, leg presses) I saw a huge difference...I started to cook and freeze meals again so that I know quality/quantityof what I am eating...

hi-five for Janie!!!!! I lost two pounds!!!!!! I am down to 138!!!!! 52 pounds total--that is a little kid-a fifth grader!! my body is holding on too fat like crazy...it took forever to lose the two pounds....which is good I think becuase I am afraid if I lose to fast I will have loose skin or something. could not work out as much as I wanted but I have been eating well for bout a week---and I increased my water intake I want to go down to 130... I am eating four meals now...and one or two snacks. eating two meals before 12pm and eating two meals after 12 pm seems to really be working because I dont feel hungry. I cook/freeze my lunches...and I started to cook/freeze breakfast (I made these pancakes...and they taste like real pancakes....they are made of egg whites, oatmeal, and cottage cheese I eat them plain they taste yummmm) I did work out today and I started to do the sprinting as well...I did a lot of cardio today--I want to lift weights at least twice this week and focus more on the lower body... I also started to jump rope after my workouts for 20 mins and my calves are hurtin' I would like to have lose the the next 8 pds by mid July.
