Jack in the box question

Okay, I know it's fast food, and it's probably not good no matter what... but what about the terriyaki bowls from jack in the box? Nutritional facts - http://www.thedailyplat...ox/chicken-teriyaki-bowl It is a lot of calories, but very few are from fat... it does have a lot of sodium too. What do you guys think? Is this okay to eat occasionally (maybe once every 1 or 2 weeks)? Is there something healthier from any common fast food restaurants around? Obviously salads probably but anything else?

I agree with everything except that sodium, that's a **** load of sodium intake, I wouldn't risk it. The overall fat/carb ratio looked fine, but just too much sodium. As far as Jack in the box goes, I've heard it's the healthiest restaurant, I still wouldn't consider it.

That is a completely fine dish to have. If you are drinking as much water as you should be, that sodium is not an issue. It might make a little bloated, and it might not. Sodium isn't going to do much, if anything, to interfere with building muscle or losing fat. That being said, what are you goals? As tall as you are, you should probably be gaining mass at 230 lbs. Don't they have an option with rice or something? Get some carbs.

MVP ...As far as Jack in the box goes, I've heard it's the healthiest restaurant... That's PR for ya Where'd you hear that, by the way? Remember the first hamburger scare that sickened and killed a bunch of kids and put e-coli on the radar? Jack in the Box. Eric Schlosser pretty much eviscerated them in his book "Fast Food Nation", pointing out that they had the worst reputation for food safety in the history of fast food. Only Subway outdid them in terms of lawsuits filed, mostly over labor rights violations. Like you, MVP, I wouldn't eat a freaking SALAD from Jack in the Box.

The company I was working for had me out in LA.. A kid had a meal at a hack in Long Beach.. If memory serves and died. I had lunch at that very same JIB the very same week the kid died.. Scared me bad... havne't had anything from them since..

veggeep Where'd you hear that, by the way? It was on the internet (bad source, I know), one of those "10 healthiest restaurants" popped up and Jack in the box was listed as #1. I never heard about that stuff you mentioned though, at least now I know to avoid it!
