Italianangel - Where U at? - Friday, February 17, 2006 10:11 AM ( #1 )
Well, my hard drive, the new one I just got in Dec, DIED!  It was under warranty and I had backed up my stuff except I did not know you have to keep outlook closed when copying the backup.pst file so it was corrupt and I had to recreate all my business data (contacts, emails, notes, tasks, calendar) and was also without pc for a few weeks.
Sorry for not being around to answer questions, I had to delete them from my server and not deal with any for awhile but am back on track again!

Update - I am entering the FAME lightweight BB division April 1st here in Vancouver, BC and also pairs!  I am 6 weeks out and although been eating clean 5 days per week for the past few months, am NOW officially dieting!  I only have 15lbs to lose in 6 weeks which is really no big deal......time to get SHREDDED!  My 8-9 meals a day will probably drop to 6.  Minimizing my carbs progressively until about 17 days out from show, then I go all protein for 10 days, then 5-7 days pre contest I carb up with sweet potato, oatmeal, brown rice, same stuff I am having now.  My serving sizes of these carbs will decrease and my protein intake may decrease to 1gm or so per lb too, but I will see.  I have never competed while on the separation diet, so I will be taking in 3-4 meals of 50 gm protein servings, with 2-3 carb sm. carb meals of yam or those mentioned above.
Back to eating tons of fish daily, and protein shakes, this will be the bulk of my protein as I am dropping the dry cottage cheese and Zoglos mock chicken breasts.  NO dairy, no salt.

I may do the Femsport this year too, in Sept but no need to diet hard for that one, I may also do the Ms. Fitness Canada in Ottawa but still on the fence with that one due to travel and expenses and need to work out the dates for the next show up incase I qualify - to make sure it is before Nov, plus I am seeking sponsors at the moment.
I got a suit sponsor for one 2pc....thats a start!
I am going to do the Fall Classic with BCABBA in Nov this year so once I join with them I am locked in for a few years and cannot cross compete which is why I am doing the BB in April, sewing my last oats so to speak!  BCABBA may let me do Figure and Fitness but if not I will be in Fitness and working toward my 4th pro card.
Other shows I don't know about may come up but Fitness will be end of year, I want to take time to bulk up for that Nov show, these IFBB qualifiers look for muscular girls, most of which at the higher level (Canadians) are not all natural but I wish to remain natural so I need to work hard to get as big as I naturally can so that when you look at me you wonder if I did do the juice!!! TEEHEE
I will not get the forehead or jaws etc of the juicers so I will still look more feminine, just more muscular.

Anyway, that's my news!
Linda

Hi I am 38 years old and starting to get interested in bodybuilding. I started working out with trainer just to lose weight from 3 pregnancies. I enjoy it so much i feel slightly addicted. It has been 1 year and i lost 30 lbs. I am far from bodybuilding material but you have to start somewhere. Can you give me any pointers and maybe some suppliments i should be taking. i would really like to be close to a bodybuilders body when i turn 40. Thank you Jodie

Sorry to hear about the computer woes!

I can see the muscle there just waiting for you to get cut!
You are looking great Linda!!
Nice arms, chest, shoulders...and nice back!
Looks like the "bulking" you were doing was good?

Overall, have you been happy with the separation diet?
So, are you bigger than ever?

Glad you are "back" with us!

Jodie, I know Linda will pipe in here...but one woman I trained was 38 with 3 kids.  She had never trained in her life.  She looks amazing now.  Wonderful muscle on her back, shoulders, arms, chest, legs, calves...people always comment when she goes sleeveless.

She accomplished this with only a great diet, basic progressive training, walking, and a basic multi.

If she were not so Victorian, he could get ready for a show any time she wanted to. Though, she is a recording artist and is on stage performing all the time anyway.

My point being, in the last year of work (losing 30 pounds!!!), you surely have a great foundation and it is not that much of a stretch for you to create a meal plan to follow and tweak your training to get you the muscle you desire!

Plus, if you need some guidance, you have come to the right place for that!

Great decision!  Now are you saying you want to bodybuild.....like just for the result or do you also aspire to compete.
Either way, Kudos!
Tell me some info about you first, this will help me answer you.
What is your height and weight, training and diet (typically).

Yes I think the bulking diet started to help, need more time.  Since those boxing photos I have lost 10 lbs since a few weeks ago.  I am at 120LBS and was probably 125-127lbs for the boxing shots and 130lbs just before them.

I absolutely love the separation diet, it is invaluable if you have digestive issues......a competitor who posted on my competitor group has tummy issues and I mentioned this and she tried and is raving......

I am not bigger than ever, or at least not sure....1999 was a peak year for me, I would need to do some measurements and find my old ones and see the diff.  I am sure I must have put some muscle on but I took tons of time off in 2003 and 2005.
I am working back to what I was......but can see me surpassing that.
5lbs more and I am on track with my weight class.  I would compete in fitness with the weight I am in now.
I will try to get some pix to post up for progress.
I took some a week or so after the boxing ones so that will show some diff.

Linda

RE: Italianangel - Where U at? - Sunday, April 02, 2006 11:54 PM ( #17 )
Thanks!
Well I did decide to do this a bit late so I got 2nd in my lightweight class and we got 1st in pairs.
2 or 4 or more weeks of work and we both would have done better, and my client was very dogged, she was not in top 5 and deserved it but the politics can be very sad and this show I thought she at least was 4th or fifth with her balance of size and tone but they chose so abstactly, one gal who was 4th was a bodybuilder and the other a skinny minny fitness gal who should not even be placed in either as she represents anorixic looking and will make girls think they need be 90lbs to compete and that is wrong, but mosly the idea of such a condtradiction in choice within top 5 was bad and then to tell them alst minute that they would not do routine if not top 5 meanwhile her friends paid to come watch at night....very sad.

I am waiting for pics actually, to post in the 4 week out thread but they are not here yet!  Because I lost so much so fast and been lazy since 2004 contest, my back end did not firm up enough in time and my tris did not lean enough even so my legs did lean up to see defined quads a tad........anyway 2 mths was all I gave myself to get ready on this one too so I am happy.
These were taken by a friend:

Sorry to hijack, but-

JODIE--do not be dismayed!  This site -esp on the female end--can be very competition oriented.

I am a 42 yr. old female bodybuilder who prefers eating and generally a life (my teenagers are either consuming me or sending me to seek outside help on a daily basis) as opposed to competition (don't get your posing suits in a bundle ladies--I admire what you do--just know without the Asian Flu it ain't happenin' here!:> )

Anyway- I am a former Nationally certified fitness instructor/trainer and would be glad to give you my 2 cents on your program.  Unlock your pm on your profile and I will message you.  Granted I'm not on this site often--took me awhile to remember my login--So give me a reason to come back!  I'm a great coach!

Hi Jodie...........Im not quite sure what you are saying ...........Im new the the gym myself as of last fall........I am also 42...........I also have a teenage son whom I teach school at my home, not to mention help manage a small business for my husband and sale avon on the side to help with our income...........the gym to me is a great place to relieve stress and it has helped improve my health as well.............I have arthritis............I have never competed in my life in any body building or bench competition.......but, I think it would be great fun to try! Im sure I would not place. But, I just like how I feel with exercising...............I can't even afford a trainer, much less be a professional at this.....hehehehehe..........but we can all dream...right?

Hello everybody.  I'm new to this site so bear with me.

I'm 49 yrs old.  I just recently (in the last 2 months) started weight training again after being out of the gym for a number of years.  My goal is simple enough but I need suggestions please ..  Lose body fat, tone and sculpt.
My current weight is 146 and my problem area is my abdominals .. I'm also seeing a small amount of cellulite on my thighs (yuck!).
My training consists of working out the muscle groups (back/bi's .. chest/triceps, etc).  I start my workouts with light cardio (warm up) and 20 min cardio at the end of the workout.
I've been considering a lite anabolic (anavar) but again, I need suggestions.
Training schedule, diet suggestions .. anything would be wonderful.

Thanks, love the dancing dots!!!
I was not lean enough but did well for 2 months only, I will look harder in Nov for Fitness.....but I really was not hard enough and did this for fun....you do not have to be perfect, its a great experience in general even if you just do it for fun!
I have a very normal life outside competition and take every other year off, as well as that I coach and work with many 'normal' non competitive clients since taht is where I come from, I was non competitive once too and that is not all I am about.........not that my posing suit is in a knot, but figured I would expand on that a tad!

Can you expand a bit on your meals and training?
I am sure you browsed the general fat loss threads in nutrition and training but maybe I can get a bit more specific with some general suggestions based on your present meal plan.
Do you then do a 3 day split for training and cardio before and after or did I mis read that?  Expand on your training exercises, sets, reps and split as well as type, type and intensity of cardio just so I am not suggestioning things you already do since the key is to change up what is being done in order to coax more results.
