Is this true?
-
Tuesday, June 27, 2006 7:55 PM
I was told by a friend that if you drink red bull before you workout it will prevent wait loss. She told me this is the reason why. red bull has something called glucos in it. when the body is excersizing it uses the glucos stored in fat to replenish it's glucos in the muscles, but when you drink red bull it gets it from there and dosn't go to the fat, so it prevents weight loss. is that true or what?

It has glucose in it. Glucose is sugar. I don't know if it prevents weight loss. I wouldn't think so.

a red bull has about as much sugar as a soda in it. if you burn enough calories (probably around 100, figuring 4 cals per gram) then you move on to other sources for energy such as fat and protein. that is why bodybuilders eat 100s of grams of protein. your body doesnt use it all, but it will use alot of energy, especially when you are cutting carbs for a contest prep. so that isnt true. even so, red bull has caffeine, a diuretic and metabolism booster. so you'll lose water water and burn more calories.

your body will pull energy from where ever when ever. it doesnt know the difference. if it needs it, it will find it. that's why bodybuilders stay fed, to fight catabolism and stay anabolic. while your body is smart. it doesnt know when im biking or running and pick a special energy type to burn, it takes it from what you give it.

so if i eat a high fat low carb diet, as well as high in protein, you're saying that my body wont burn fat? a calorie is simply energy. energy that we burn. different types burn at different rates. that is why fat takes 9 calories per gram as opposed to 4 for carbs. also, carbs are digested faster because of the molecular structure so they are made for readily available to the body for use. that's why they are the first to go and not fat. ive lost BF % without doing cardio, using just diet and weight training.

It is extremely difficult to read anything that you type. Just read through it and make sure that it makes sense. Some punctuation could help too... Thanks!
