Is this possible? - Monday, June 04, 2007 12:08 PM
So I'll admit, I've taken quite a few months off due to some moving, vacations, catching up on beach hours (hehe).  And I'm going to guess I'm at 12-14% body fat, which for me, is very out of shape.  Is it possible for me to lower my body fat WHILE gaining size?  I'm not talking 5% but getting it to 8-10% and then maintaining that while gaining muscle mass?

Go hard or go home!

Yes.

Maybe not the "most" efficient but if you eat enough protein and keep your calories in a cutting to maintenance stage, it's possible.

That question really elicits many different responses.  It certainly isn't impossible but it's difficult to do.  It requires you to be under the calories you need (hence burning fat) but consuming more than a standard ratio of protein to encourage muscle building.

Don't expect slabs of muscle if you go this route.

And do expect that you'll need to be tracking your diet and activity to ensure you really are where you need to be.
