Is this good? - Saturday, March 08, 2008 8:12 AM ( #1 )
I have been working out for almost a year. I am 15 years old, 6 foot, and weigh 260. For my weight I consider myself to be in good shape, because I can do 45 situps in a minute and I can run a mile in 10 minutes.
I am wondering how good I am doing now.
Are these weights good for a teenager?
Any suggestions to increase bench?
My workout:
CHEST
BENCH: set of 10 with bar
2 sets of 6 with 115
3 sets of 3 with 145
2 sets of 1 with 165
3 sets of 5 with 150
INCLINE BENCH: 3 set of 5 with 115
ROWS: 2 sets of 5 with 100
BUTTERFLIES: set of 6 with 120
bench max=205lbs
LEGS
SQUATS: 2 sets of 6 with 380(180 was a typo)
HACK SQUAT: 3 sets of 6 with 600
CALVES RAISES: set of 6 with 600
SEATED LEG PRESS: set of 6 with 300
hack squat max=750

ARMS,SHOULDERS, AND BACK

PREACHERS: 2 sets of 6 with 50( 50lbs plus the ezcurl bar)
DUMBELLS CURLS: set of 6 with 50
TRICEP EXTS: 2 sets of 6 with 150
LAT PULLDOWNS: 2 sets of 6 with 150
BARBELL SHRUGS: 2 sets of 6 with 135

-a 10 min. mile isn't very good and 45 situps is about average, maybe a little less than average.

-14 sets for chest is probably too much for u at this point, and having 10 sets all for flat bench doesn't give much variety. usually u want to have about 2-4 sets per exercise

-u dont have enough back exercises

-"dumbells" is not an exercise

I only do these to warmup for 150.
set of 10 with bar
2 sets of 6 with 115
3 sets of 3 with 145
2 sets of 1 with 165

I have tried to go straight to 150, but it is too hard. It's easier and I get more quality presses when I warm up like this.

There's not enough back exercises and zero shoulder stuff.

okay 5:30 is fast and 10:00 is slow. An 8 is pretty good for the average non-runner, 7 is better.
