Is it better to target a muscle for each workout? - Tuesday, June 23, 2009 1:32 PM ( #1 )
Is it better to only do say, chest exercises, for one workout, then shoulder exercises the next day i workout? Or should I do a little bit of everything each time i workout, or split things up, etc.; which is best?

Try both and see. I prefer three months of splits and three months of full body routines.

What is your level of experience?

There is a good link for you, revealing the pros and cons of both- Excellent discussion.

I like splits with compound lifts as the core lifts. I like to lift 4-5 times a week and I can't do that fullbody and still give it my all.

I'm so much of a split lover.

BUT

You should always do both, they both have their pros and cons.

By doing both, you will have all the wonders in the world and you won't get bored of doing the same thing. ( I don't...but that's me)

There are plenty of good lifting routines, and many members in here can give you one you might love (MVP, N$, brihead, me, rippedchick....)
