RE: Introduce Yourself - Tuesday, March 08, 2005 6:19 PM ( #181 )
well i am 16 years old and in drastic need of conditioning. I have a mind of a athlete but a body of a mini sumo wrestler. I am probabbly one of the biggest people in the school, wide not tall, i am about 6 ft or 6 1, i weigh 285 and i am only 16. I hate my life right now and i am drasticly in need for change. I am into sports i would love to play football but i cant run very much, i played baseball but my weight gets in the way of my attitude towards going outside. I love paintballing its my new favorite sport but i blew out my knee last time i did it. Im in physical therapy right now and in a couple of weeks i will be able to play again. right now i excersize only about 20-30 mins a day but i always tell myself i am going to get up early the next morning and excersize more but i never do... My weight is effecting me socially also, i never want to go to socials or even talk to people for very long... i ask my teachers to sit me in the back because i am always scared that people are looking at me and talking about me.... as i said i need help please send me maybe some diet/excersize plans if you can my email is thepicker19@yahoo.com.

thanks for your support

Hey. I am 19 years old and I am in college. I weigh about 165 and am about 6' tall. I am looking to build muscle. I have tried for the past few years, but I can never stay focused enough to do lift for more than a month. But this year I joined the cheerleading squad at my school, and that has me motivated to make a change.

Well see you all around the board.

Hey I'm 17 and a senior in High School. My freshman year i was 6ft 189lbs (have no idea what my bf was but it had to be real high). By my sophmore year i had dropped to 134lbs (no muscle or fat just skinny). I started working out at the local gym just last year and now im 6ft 2in 164lbs (muscle with low enough bf to have a 6 pack). I go to the gym 5 days a week (mon-fri) and have discovered how much I love to work out. It relieves stress and makes me feel better (no better feeling that leaving the gym after a good workout) I'm currently on the critical bench program and i recommend it if you dont already have a good chest regime.

I was thinking about trying critical bench for myself. Is it improving your strength like it says 50 Lbs. in 50 days ? also any size gains ?

Hi all. My name is anthony grasso. I am 14 and will be 15 in May.(of 2005). I am a freshmen, and play basketball and football. I am 5 10' and weigh 163. I have 14in. bicpeps, and 22in. thighs. I only work out for football season, and unfortunately my school has no gym/weight training class. I havent worked out since october, and my whole upper chest has turned to flab, as well as my abdominals. My max bench is 170, squat is about 290, and i usually do about 140lb. lat pulls. I am looking to tone up my chest and abdominals.(more so my chest..it's pretty flabby). I am not too concerned about quads/calves...im big there. So any advice for chest would help..well, thanks for reading my introduction, and ya'll have a great site!

thepicker, i was 265 when i was 16, dont worry about it man....people arent looking at you, all in all, no one cares what you look like but yourself....i now look like a different person but im not a different person, just older...keep your head up no matter what you weigh....

I weighed 240 in 7th grade man, went down to 180, then went up to 265 again...it sucked but then I lost it again...it sucked because I weighed so much but i cared less about what people thought of me then then i do now....you can definitly lose it man, trust me..motivation is key. When I lost the weight, i got more girls than anybody at my high school, so i kept at it, that was my main motivation, plus to just be healthy and look healthy...if somethings bugging you man it just adds to the andrelin pump while your working out...once you start, dont look back..i dont know if that helps but good luck...just eat right and excercise

Hey, my name is Kyle. I'm 18, 6' tall, and 160lbs. I have a goal of reaching 180lbs over the next few months. I've been working out at the gym for a couple months so far. I'm looking forward to helping people out (when I can) and seeking advice from all the experts on here. I'll see you all around

RE: Introduce Yourself - Friday, March 25, 2005 6:01 AM ( #193 )
Hi all. My name is Greg, a patent agent and scientific advisor here in the great city of Chicago. I've exercised off and on for the last 10 years, but have finally been motivated for some real change! I'm 38 (sigh), 175#, 17-22%BF (depending on the device), and just finishing my 8th week of training. I've been following Shawn LeBrun's Shredded to get started, and Venuto's Burn the Fat, Feed the Muscle that is ubiquitiously advertised. My goals aren't so much related to body stats, but more with vanity and comfort: look good in a t-shirt (instead of a skinny guy with a small gut!) and fit in my 32" pants comfortably again! After that, I'll worry about the beach vanity aspects :).

My progress has actually been decent so far--the stats I gave above are about 3 weeks old (except weight). My 36" pants which were always a little bit loose are now ridiculously loose, as are the 35". 34" pants are better :). The partner says that muscularity is evident (never had that before), and I feel great (although this last week I've suspected overtraining, which means next week I'm resting).

I'm a geek and proud of it (that's why I'm paid the big bucks, right? ). I've been keeping meticulous track of everything, including now diet. The quality of the food I do eat has skyrocketed (organic when affordable, fast food limited to salad like items, severe decrease in alcohol consumption, etc.). I've been reading everything I can get my hands on (and afford). Anyway, geek here is looking forward to learning from everyone here.

Cheers, everyone!

How Did I Get Myself Into This? - Saturday, March 26, 2005 7:07 PM ( #195 )
After reading a lot of the introductory posts, I feel like jumping out the window and going down 34 flights! Well, I'll be quite honest with you. Not only am I new to bodybuilding, but I'm also 54-years-old. Ok, stop chuckling. Never had a chance to do much exercise because I traveled my entire career before fitness centers became so common in good hotels. So this year I retired and decided I wanted to get myself in shape. I don't expect to become a competitive bodybuilder, but just want to lose about 20 pounds and of course, build a great physique.

I was an anorexic male for almost 30 years and weighed in at 160 pounds and was 6'3". I really did a number on my body. Looked like a beanpole. Finally went into a rehab and conquered that one. And now I'm ready.

I've looked at all your stats, and to be honest I don't have any stats except weight and height to put up here. I started a program with a private trainer about 7 weeks ago and have been working out 6 days a week (every other day for cardio). Marc discusses "passion" in a free printout in "12 Beginner Mistakes Bodybuilders Make". The bonus #13 is all about passion. I really became passionate about my program. More passionate than my own trainer. Just a tip guys, be very careful when hiring a personal trainer. Lots of money and lots of frauds out there. I've lost my passion. Having read Marc's article, I'm beginning to get it back and wanted a place I could come to where I could find support as I go along this new highway of my life. As I say, I have no stats to put up except my height and weight and I'm too embarassed to put up anything else. Hey, I just started!!!! Nice to meet y'all.

Height 6'2
Weight 204

Need to lose fat and turn it all into muscle mass. Hey, I'll settle for one muscle right now! That would really make me smile.--Andy

My name is Jeremiah. I am 27 and already feeling really old. I have let myself really go and it affects my self esteem and general motivation for life imensely. I was watching tv the other night and saw this young boy named little Hercules. He inspired me for whatever reason and I have to get back into shape. I am currently 6'2" and 285lbs. I need to see at least 210lbs so I have a long hill to climb. I already have a set of free weights and I am pulling them out of storage tonight. I have read the FAQ here about the most commonly asked questions/misconceptions and I have to say the article was really good. It helped me figure out how many calories I need in a day to lose weight and also pointed me to a site where I can keep track of the foods I eat. I am pretty pumped about getting back into shape as I know I will start to feel better almost imediately. Seems to be a great site and just wanted to introduce myself.

Hey Jeremiah, my name is Jill and I live in Auckland, New Zealand.

Nine months ago I had a long hill to climb too. But I did it.

Enlist support, take it one day at a time, take baby steps, ask questions and then more questions, set goals to underachieve a little at first and then congratulate yourself, dream BIG though, commitment (not involvement) got me to my goals. I train and eat healthy as well-formed HABITS now but in the beginning "repetition is the only form of permanence". I do this stuff whether I want to not, whether I feel like it or not, whether I can't pay the rent or not, whether my kids/husband are pissing me off or not. I just do it anyway.

A wise man said "The key to long term success is to dream BIG, think long-term, underachieve on a daily basis and take baby steps."

BE DO HAVE

Regards Jill

Okay I'm not new, but I never intrduced myself. My name is William Artis and I am 17 years old. I live in Dallas and I want to pack on size to my chest! I'm looking for a chest building routine that will help me pack on more size. After I pack on more size I will go back to street boxing. I'm a very negative person because people always talk about what they want to do, but never take the first step. I am a very serious person when it comes down to trusting someone. Dont start no sh*t, want be no sh*t.

Hey all. Found this place while researching testosterone. I'm a 33 y/y guy over in Maryland. I'm a former Lacrosse player that is kinda itching to get back on the field after about 10 years or so of being away. Time has been good to me as I'm not too bad outta shape, but definitely need to lose some pounds, build up and gain some endurance.
