Howdy folks, well I have done body building all of my life but not the kind this board promotes.... I have recently reached my goal weight of and186lbs (5' 11") after starting out at 397lbs...ergo the wrong body building statement I just made... So at 36 years of age I have lost 211lbs over the last 2 years (see before/after pic) and find myself with more wrinkles than a 100 year old!! I know I know, I deserve it and the doctors tell me that with time some of the excess skin will shrink but not all. This weight loss was done totally by diet and exercise no gimmicks nothing extreme other than literally working my butt off. So, I have been lifting high rep low weight for about 6 weeks now just to get my body notified of the impending change in my exercise program and I am looking to get rid of or minimize some skin folds around my latissimus dorsi region by building a little lean mass up in that area. I am not looking to turn my self into a large muscular person, I have had enough of being large in my life and just want to be fit and lean. Right now I eat 5 times daily balancing out both my carbs and protein intake according to my approximate lean body mass and it seems to be working but like I said I have a few wrinkles I would like to rid myself of if possible (non-surgically) Any input would be appreciated. Take it easy all. Before/After picture. [image]local://upfiles/2848/0AE17F97EBBE42E7B87D3A5AEECA6326.jpg[/image]

You look fantastic! Great job on the nautral weight loss! My husband lost 110 pounds and he's still going. He would like to lose 40 more pounds. I'm sure it's a huge change going from 3 hundred something down to where you can start jogging again. As far as the skin is concerned, you probably will not be able to get rid of all of it without surgery. Some skin will snap back, but due to the extreme as to which the skin was stretched pre-weight loss, you will most likely never have the taut, firm skin you are looking for. Thousands of people have to revert to surgery to remove excess skin after weight loss. Especially if they underwent Gastric Bypass. The fat loss is so drastic, the skin does not have time to compensate. The only advice that I have is to lift weights. My husband's doctor tells him to lift and for some reason, that may help the sagging skin. You could also try skin firming creams. I've never tried them and I do not know if their claims are proven but if you want to avoid surgery, then skin tightening cream may be a wise investment. Much cheaper as I'm sure the surgery will not be covered by insurance since it is most likely considered a cosmetic surgery.

Thanks PITA, I have a "HypoThyroid" condition also so it was very very hard and I am proud of my accomplishment at the same time somewhat ashamed for allowing myself to get to that point, but it won't ever happen again, I can tell you that!!!!! I wouldnt mind the surgury especially around my stomach, that will never go away unfortunately but its the price I will have to pay for my folly. My insurance won't cover it and I don't have 20K to shell out for it so...Cest La Vie.... I am hoping to eventually be able to reduce through time and exercise about 75% of the wrinkles and just be happy and healthy which is why I am here. Anyways, thanks again for the support, take care!

Dae_Light: A picture would be worth a thousand words. Maybe it's a bicep split? Which is genetic and very hard to get? I'm having trouble picturing it so I really can't say with any degree of certainty. Grizzly: Holy smokes man that is freaking fantastic!

Hi all, My name is Kyle and I am 14 ( 15 in 3 months) and I have been lifting for about a month and a half now. I weigh 155 and I am 5'8. My max bench is 155 right now and I am not sure on squats or any others. I play baseball for my highschool and I hope that I can increase my bench by at least 20 lbs by tryouts which are in Feburary. I am also interested in nutrition plans to help me lose body fat and gain muscle mass. -Kyle

HELLO eveybody. My name is Juancho,im 28 years old and i've been trainind since i was 22. I just bought m1t and novedex extreme by gaspari and i have not idea how to cicle them. I'm 185 lbs. 5'11 and i just want to get a good jump star on weight training now that i've been off for a couple months. What i understand is that i have to take one pill of m1t in the morning with breakfast for 4 weeks, and get off the cicle for the next 4 weeks. And then during the off cicle i should start taking the nova for those 4 weeks to allow my body to clean up.And i can go back to another cicle for 4 weeks with m1t. How many cicles are recommended? Thank you in advance for your help.

hello, i am 17 years old, from TX, about 135 lbs. i am new to body building. about a year ago, i attempted to body build all by myself.... although, after about 4 or 5 months without any results, i finally just called it quits. i worked out about 2 hours a day, every day, 30 minutes of pushups, 30 minutes of situps, 30 minutes of dumbells, and 30 minutes of the weight bench. last spring, i ran for the track team, i got many cramps, but i finished the season. my friends and i want to start a new year's resolution, and to get fit. we both are in our junior year of highschool, and we have a part time job, which we can alter the schedule acordingly. I do not know where to start, i am pretty much lost to where to start, and would greatly appreciate some help. i want to get in shape just to look good, i dont really need to lose weight or to get a healthier life style, i eat a pretty healthy diet. Thanks.

Hello my name is Jordan and i am of the age of 16, Lately I have been contemplating whether or not to get my body in shape but never had the balls nor the info to do so. I am 5 ft 11" and i weigh 230 pounds. I am clearly over weight and would like to lose some of that. I would also like to shape this into muscle. I am not sure where to start. I am a full time high school student and i sing in the choir. my school does not have sports. I also have a part time job and have a somewhat flexible schedule. I have a very good way of motivation i just need a start. i want to basically have a work out scedule and or diet so that i may start this and hopefully be succesful. Thank-you.

Just saying hello. fotomus says....I go to college and work at the same time. I am roughly 5'10", currently @ 159lbs. I am heading back to school in another week and really want to focus on bulking up and gaining a little mass. I am pretty cut now, most of that 159 is mucsle (only 9% bodyfat....not too shabby). Thanks, nice forum. Edit: I guess age could matter....I am 20, and single for those ladies that might care :D

Hi all! I'm a 28 yo male and have been lifting on and off for about three years. I live in Ireland and train regularly (maybe too often!). I work in security and study evenings. I am 5' 7'' and 174lbs and about 20% body fat. I supplement quite a bit and eat a high protein diet (not as strictly as I would like). My goal is to reach 196lbs with about the same body fat or less. I would like to achieve this over the next 1-2 years. My motto is before you try something new -research it thoroughly. Glad to have joined and hope to gain from everyones experience. Best of luck in your endeavours - whatever they may be!

Names Zach. im 17, from ohio and im in rugby, track, powerlifting, and maybe football next year, i am even considering wrestling. i played soccer for my first 2 years of high school too. i won the Presidential Fitness award at my school. (50+ pushups, 11 pullups, 6:20 mile, 80+ situps in under a minute, and i dont remember what my shuttle run was but i beat pres. by like .6 secs or somthing..)im 5'11", weight 140, i have as of now 5.1% body fat. (my soph year i had 2.9% :D...that was unhealthy, i was in too good a shape...)my bench is 145,squat 225+(gotten 265 but was about a couple inches from parallel so it didnt count :( . ) deadlift 225+ (i havent tried for more cause i just got down my deadlifting cause thats the one thing i am not used to). i have okay pecs and have a 6 pack workin on 8,(which i had a couple of months ago but got lazy.) i am currently taking no2 and creatine and eat only good food. i NEVER drink pop or eat anything too bad if i can help it. my waist is about 30". my main goals is to bulk up for football but still keep very agile as im goin for punt return. which everyone i play football with says i would dominate at. because i am one of those guys that find openings and shoot through em in an instant. :D drop me a line

Hey, I’m Mark. I am 21 years old and have been weight lifting for 8 years (since my freshmen year of high school). I first got into weight lifting for sports (I did football, shot put and wrestling in high school), but now I lift for personal enjoyment. I have never had a change to bulk up and see how much muscle I could get due to wrestling (I was a 215 pounder in high school, but I cut down to 197lbs for my year wrestling in college). I work full time for the California Army National Guard, and am stationed in Santa Rosa, CA. I try to lift 4 times per week, but the eventful last few months have caused my training to suffer a bit. My goal (as it always has been) is to lower my body fat and gain strength. My current specs are listed below: Height: 70†Weight: 230lbs Waist: 38†Biceps: 17.5†(mostly Triceps, one of my goals is to increase the size of my biceps) Neck: 16.5†(which plays against me for body fat in the Army) Bench: 335lbs Squat: 315lbs x 8 (most I’ve done in a while due to lack of a spotter, probably right around 385lbs for my one rep) Dead lift: Need to find out, after reading over this site, it seems that dead lift stats are as frequently noted as max benches (so I guess I need to jump on the wagon!) I have already gotten lots of good info from this site; I look forward to learning more as I go! Mark

Hi! I'm a married, 35yr old mother of two beautiful boys (ages 14-months and 4yrs) and have just graduated from "basic fitness" to the bodybuilding sect. Looking for sensible, honest information and advice about nutrition, supplements and routines. Glad I found this site! My stats are 5'3" at 113lbs at 16% body fat. My routine is M W F cardio and abs, T upper body weight training and TH lower body weight training. Occasionally I will do a spin class on Sat or Sun. My glutes and abs are the toughest areas for me that I'm not seeing the results I want. Supplements are protein/whey shakes and Sann Tight. Diet is fairly lean throughout the week, but lax on the weekend. I know diet is paramount to a healthy, fit body, so any suggestions would be helpful! Thanks...

Hello, all. I am 31 years old. I quit smoking cigarettes three years ago and gained a lot of weight. I'm 5' 6" and have a a medium to thick build. I've been working out doing cardio and lifting weights steadily for about 3 months now. I've always been naturally athletic and especially enjoy cardio exercise. Now that I am back in shape and have more energy, I feel it's time to take the next step and learn more. That's why I joined this forum.

Hi all, Nice forum, best I've found so far. I'm 36yo male, 195lbs, 11~12%bf, 6'2" 14 months ago I was 50lbs heavier. I've learned alot in a year working in my basement gym! I owe 35lbs to BFL that let me see my feet and the last 15lbs to BFFM that let me see my abs - freaked out my family & friends. In March I'm joining a local gym to take it to the next level - I want the same physique but more size and density. Thanks rench

I am 21 years old, standing at 6'3" and weighing in at just 165 pounds at age 21. My body type is skinny, but it isn't sickly. I have a real skinny guy ripped look, if you can picture it. But I really want to bulk up. Not just for sports reasons, but for self-confidence. I have done the gym thing on-and-off for about 5 years. When I say on-and-off, I mean that I have gone for 9 straight months, taken 3 months off, gone for a year, and stopped for another month. I have never seen excellent results. I have tried following programs, but it is just too tough - complex really - for me. I work two jobs and and go to college. I literally have just a few extra hours a day - and the last thing I have time for is driving downtown to our local gym. I COULD do it - but if so, I'd like to see results. I'd like to get bigger overall. Stronger back, stronger arms and chest and bigger legs. I have tried a ton of workouts, but as a hard gainer I dont know what to do. I am so limited on time available to go to gym. But what do I try? What are the types of meals I should eat? I need a plan that is possible to stick to. I am thinking the main part of this is eating enough. I need to hit certain goals, but also want to remain healthy. I don't want me health to go bad just trying to eat more red meat, etc. What are some targets I can hit in calories, carbs, protein? Are supplements a waste of money at the point I am at? I just need some guidance. Is a home-gym a good route since I don't have much time outside school and work. I do have enough money to afford homegym payments. I know I shouldn't be, but I am very self concious about being the "skinny guy." I appreciate all of your help in advance. Thank you so much. (I will also post this on the main board - so disregard it if you have read this, it is just a copy and paste.)
